I was looking for a mic since I'm moving from a gaming headphone to a studio headphone. Went from the Razer Seiren Mini to Fifine K699B to the Fifine K678. Seeing as there isn't that much price difference between the Seiren Mini and the K678, it's a no brainer which one to buy. This video definitely makes me think that this is the best budget microphone right now. Thanks man!

The fifine sounds better naturally, but the other mic is just better once you start to compress it and such. The fifine is made for plug n play. The other is more for production. I think- idk
@JamesZhan3 жыл бұрын
That's exactly right. The SM7B is also great for recording drums and guitar cabinet. It's more of a studio-grade microphone, while the fifine is great for podcasting.

that's most likely just noises from your surrounding environment. Condenser mics are extremely sensitive to sounds. If you think your mic is faulty, you should contact Fifine!

James, have you found a shock mount that works well on the fifine? Seems like the buttons/knobs on the body kind of get in the way of many of the "universal" shock mounts.
@pchoisauce3 жыл бұрын
Update, this one fits relatively well. If you tighten the screw pads JUST below the height of the headphone knob in the back it holds well enough. Nice touch to have a pop filter (even though im not entirely sure how well it actually works) www.amazon.com/Microphone-Compatible-Microphones-Universal-Shock-Mount/dp/B083V36FQN/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=universal+shock+mount&qid=1607985369&sr=8-7

Hi James! SM7b all the way for me. For spoken word, I generally prefer dynamic mics. I have heard some condenser mics sound good on spoken word, such as, the King Bee. I'm a Sure fan and use the SM48 for general purpose stream audio.
@JamesZhan4 жыл бұрын
I think both types of mics can sound good; it's just that in this scenario we are comparing two microphones of completely different tiers. Good Mythical Morning always use a condenser and their audio quality is awesome. That being said, the room acoustics play a much better role when you are using a condenser though.

@JamesZhan3 жыл бұрын
It is. You shouldn't be too far from it. Unless you have a studio that's acoustically treated for voice recording, being too far from the mic will result in a ton of room echo in the mic. I would say one foot is as far as you should be from the mic.
