Really interesting hearing how Don's drum parts for Merry xmas were put down. Just loved Slade in my youth...top band and THE best live band 'back in the day'. Great to hear of and see him looking well.

Noddy so vibrant and energetic. Slade a glorious part of my childhood. My Oh My and Run Runaway two of my favourite songs ever. They weren't just a '70s band.

Slade, the band that most influenced Kiss, and a true british institution, brought up with Slade, soooooo good

Roy did only get to 4. A forgotten fact is that Gary Glitter outsold Wizzard every week in December. Were it not for Merry Christmas Everybody I Love You Love Me Love would have been one of the few Christmas number ones to get to the top in November and stay there. Charts from December 1973 would now never be re-broadcast because the number one could not be played. Thank goodness for Slade!
@ColinTM156 ай бұрын
Have you not considered that without the competition from Slade, Wizzard could have reached number one instead? Not everyone could afford, or perhaps had enough inclination, to buy two christmas songs. Many of the million + buyers would certainly have bought SOMETHING else if the Slade record hadn't been an option, and most of those had possibly already bought Glitter's record anyway.

Its not and never ever pronounced as Merry Xmas. Theres no such meaning explanation of Xmas as many believe and pronounced it. Saying Merry Xmas is to many showing only whats disrespect disregard ignorance to how its really said and pronounced. CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS. AND STILL MANY REFUSE TO ACCEPTED THAT KNOWLEDGE OF UNDERSTANDING CHRISTMAS FROM XMAS. YOU SEE THAT MANY STILL SAY AND PRONOUNCED MERRY XMAS FROM SAYING MERRY CHRISTMAS.
