I adore early doors and have watched all episodes multiple times. It never fails!!! Some of the best comedy occurs in the exchanges between Jean and Winnie. 😂

This wasn’t a comedy, it was real life if you were ever in the north west, old dark wood, aluminium pressed out ashtrays, worn out Lino by the oche, how my early pubgoing was with all the characters recognised, like the seafood bloke Sally Army chuggers, and fella flogging Sergio Tachinni tracksuits and meat from in the same adidas bag….

Loved this interview. The warmth of the two series is here too. I was lucky enough to catch this back in the day. Must've been up after 10 o'clock. I like the bit about you'd be worried if people didn't take the Mick! Definitely 😊 I rate people by whether I'd go for a pint with them. Wouldn't that be fab? Thanks fellas.

Noddy is such a beautiful person. I just love his passion for life. I'd give anything to hear him sing afew bars of my oh my. The best.....bar none, pure rock voice. Better than plant, rogers, daltry. He has such a strong vocal, an absolute gift.

Graduating in high school in the summer of 1986 in The Philippines, I remembered that that was the time that singles from Flaunt The Imperfection got radio airplay and the promo MTV videos got exposure from local TV (although Wishful Thinking was a big hit on Fliipino radio in 1984 thereabouts). Didn't buy the album then for lack of money but eventually took a CD only after 14 years after that graduation year. While concluding my college in 1991-95, I took a cassette of both Diary Of A Hollow horse and Arizona Sky, and I will remember the songs forever because of its "association" with the glorious and bittersweet college years which cannot be returned to or recaptured. Diary is the better album, Walter Becker-produced with more energizing songs than Arizona. If only I had a respectable hi-fi then, instead of a mere Sony radio-cassette player, these albums would've sounded notches better. I had also took a CD+DVD China Crisis combo set from Amazon.UK, forgot the title now as I can hardly listened to anymore to disk music due to raising family , and the DVD for that one contains a live concert that unfortunately was captured in a very dark theater or concert hall. Resolution though is good but the better DVD featuring the band, sonic-wise, would be the Liverpool concert. I took two DVD edition of Liverpool from different countries to check if one has a better picture, but no, its all the same. Wished concerts like that could be upgraded or remastered in blu ray. Lundon once said they had not imagined the band would lasts this long, and that he'd end up being a truck mechanic, well I myself is awed that China Crisis remains active, doing concerts from all over the world, even after 43 years. A musical fortune like that feels enviable, even though many other 80's band has fallen on the wayside and is now hopelessly faded - CC still got wind on its sail and will not be "retired" anytime soon by fans...

I was born in Hazel Grove, 1949. Went to Australia in 72. Watched this fantastic comedy in Sydney and my Australian born partner, she instantly loved it too. I recognised a lot of the roads with temporary 'traffics lights' and knew it was South Manchester. But in one episode, the outing to the races, they mentioned The Bamboo Club, which was a great club in The Grove we all went to after having a few in the Anchor, Woodman or Grove pubs. Wonder if that's the club they talked about in the Twin Cheeks episode? Of course the 'Boo' it wasn't a strip club, just a DJ and occasional groups but they possibly got the name from it. There was also The Grapes pub in the Grove, still there I believe, although the above pubs I mentioned have sadly gone. Great memories, great comedy.

I went on the tour of Liverpool music sites with Brian Nash last September with 10 other people. He was personable, funny, knowledgeable and generous with his time. It lasted much longer than scheduled and he bought two rounds of drinks. He was candid about his views on music and other things. I would not have believed it if someone had told me that thirty nine years after the phenomenal success of FGTH in 1984 I would be walking round Liverpool with one of the band. No- one recognised him even though most people will have heard of the band and/ or know the music. He said he is never recognised in Liverpool for FGTH and only occasionally in London when he lived there. Not quite the same thing, but if someone had told me when I was listening to The Noise on Radio City while doing my homework in 1986 and taping tracks off the radio that I would be watching this segment 38 years later, I wouldn't believe it either! Good interview.
