Fig Variety Review: Craven's Craving - A Black Madeira type fig

Craven's Craving is a Black Madeira type fig variety. I rarely get good Black Madeira type figs to ripen in my climate, but in this video I show one of the best BM-type figs that I have ever ripened, which also happened to be my first Craven's Craving fig.

That’s my best fig right there! I got it from Padsfan who found it originally. He usually has cuttings in January

I have Craven's Craving, Figo Preto, and Black Madeira, they are all young trees. Some people would say they are all the same fig. I cant wait to find out myself!

did you mention if you gave this one a headstart? Do you remember when it woke up?

Yes, but started all my trees in my greenhouse. It gives them 2-3 weeks headstart I think

What month was your head start? And dos you end up getting the figs to ripe in the grow room?

It’s been a couple of years so I can’t recall now. I got a few to ripen in the grow room, but they usually only tasted good if they were within a week of ripening anyway. Probably not enough light in there
