How to Make the Subject STAND OUT in your Food Photography

This is one of the things that light can do so well for your food photography: Without further styling or adding (or subtracting) props, it can help your subject stand out from the rest of the image. Using just your light, I think you can go from an ok photo to a great one by applying this concept of separation and I discuss this further in the video.
Hope it helps!

Can you please suggest any other lens if you don't have a macro lens?
@figandlight
@figandlight 4 жыл бұрын
I do try to only suggest and recommend gear that I own and have used, but if you don't have a macro lens, you should look into extension tubes. They're devices that attach between your camera body and lens that allow you to move in closer to your subject, essentially making it 'macro'. Hope that helps Arvind! Thanks for watching

Hi! Pardon my English, I’m not a native speaker. I run a retail online shop, with varieties of beauty products, and I do shoot and edit every picture of each product. I usually spend most of my times on the image production (because of the varieties). Do I have to adjust on each product and deal with different situations like in this video to make it appealing and selling? Or, is there any other way to process it especially when working on so many, many products? Like perhaps a format for the photo session and editing process for consistency?
@figandlight
@figandlight 4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question Priskila! It sounds like you're asking about quality vs quantity and that balance between them to. I would say it depends on a variety of factors like the nature of the products and the lighting setup. Typically is the lighting setup is complex, the more difficult it would be to systematize it and vice versa, the simple it is, the more likely you'll be able to produce at a higher rate. Developing a format for a shoot is possible but I would say that would depend on the situation so I can't put quite a blanket statement in this case.
