To think Rob is what in his 40's here and still touring and the wail from the early 70's is still intact, the definition of a Metal God. Metal God voices never tarnish only ripen with age. Long live the Metal God 🤘❤

Best Fight song, and best Halford showcase of vocal genius, including of course Judas. Also, amazing guitar work; incredibly emotional and still technical and heavy. This is a masterpiece, unknown to most, since Fight was only a hiatus, but which would have otherwise been a massive hit. Immortal Rob.

Agreed. Unfortunately it was commercially unviable since in the mid 90s the heavy culture went out of fad and only retained die hard fans. So he fell back on Judas, that had a much larger following and didn't need to write genius music to survive.
@MidnightIsolde5 жыл бұрын
Yes this is a shame. Halford is a good lyricist - when he has the opportunity and inspiration. I love Priest, but when their lyrics are decent. The cartoonish monster 'deadly wheels' etc stuff. LOL. I can listen to it as the execution is always good, but Halford seems better with heavy subjects and melancholy - in fact showing vulnerability and emotional anguish conflict; the issues of the human condition etc.

no shit. My favorite line up was with Russ Parrish. best metal line up Ever IMHO. Into the pit is the best metal song ever and the studio version of this tune holds my 2nd favorite guitar solo. I saw them in Asbury Park, N.J. in 94 and it was just f ing insane. I remember when War of Words came out the metal scene thought it was too heavy . ???? Too heavy. It was Brilliant and Rob really seemed to be having the time of his life. He was so into it live.

Yeah, right - that's why Priest and Halford are legends who have sold millions of albums, influenced countless metal musicians and bands, and are still kicking ass to the day, while Steel Panther are just a gimmick act who's joke began wearing thin after a year or so.

I actually kinda like it when a singers voice cracks on stage. Proof that it's a real human being up there and not some autotuned wanker. Rob Halford is the greatest. Not just in range, but his emotional delivery.

@kemanorel31107 жыл бұрын
+Andrew James Yeah, people like Bieber and whatever the name of One Direction's singer is could learn a thing or two from Halford just in general singing. He's up there actually singing without any kind of computer attached to his performance and sounds significantly better than that autotuned crap. A computer cannot correct a bad singer at all.

Grandísimo tema de War of Words, uno de los discos más subestimados del género. El proyecto alterno de Halford es un dechado de potencia y calidad en cada instrumento y en la parte vocal, pues hablamos de una leyenda viviente.
