Craig Jones is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, owner of B-Team and Founder of the Craig Jones Invitational.
Craig has decided to go to the front lines of the Ukraine war, and since returning to America has entered an even more dangerous territory - combat tournament promotion. Today we find out which is more ruthless.
Expect to learn the crazy, dangerous parts of the world Craig Jones has been living in recently, the reason Craig Jones is going to fight a woman in August, where you can get $1m dollars in cash from, why combat athletes are all so poor, what it feels like to fire a bazooka why Craig designed sunglasses with a tiny spoon on them and much more…

When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Craig Jones. I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Craig, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Craig put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

Competed at ADCC trials in Jersey- they changed the location of the venue without notifying athletes and it cost me over $1,000 extra to change locations. I got over it. Then after winning my first match with a belly with a belly down straight ankle, my 2nd opponent did not make the mat and got DQed. They called me back into the building (after leaving to eat) and then (Tom D to my face said he would DQ me if I didn't compete right then) forced me to compete against my DQed opponent- lost by points. Really hard to spend thousands to compete then deal with that level of incompetence and arrogance.

Its not far fetched for ADCC to pay their athletes just to show, they already worked hard and won shit to get there, having some money just to be there is only fair. 50-100K per division won, 250K for absolute title or something. The fact that is was 10K to win in 99 and STILL is like that now is aboslutely insane.

I do worry about the 2nd place people. Fucking traumatizing to have a match for $1mil, with zero for 2nd (not counting the $10k for showing). I probably woulda thrown them a $50k or $100k bone just to not ruin someone's life - even if it came out of the $1mil.

They are welcome to compete in ADCC and make half the money for second place as they would for showing up to CJI

@@ScuffedLandlord oh ok. So, because of that, it wouldn't be traumatic losing a winner-takes-all match for a million dollars?

Traumatic is to sit on hands and not landing in the 1 mil dollar fighting competition

The humour of Craig Jones makes this interview but also found the ukraine and chernobyl stuff profound. Its interesting hearing about life there.

Love Craig Jones Don’t like the way it is edited and not continuous (á la JRE) as you jump into subjects with no lead up. Understand ads but just jumping into the middle of a conversation.
