The Vortex Beater is made with 18 vortex fragments. You get vortex fragments BEFORE the Moon Lord Just check the Terraria Wikipedia. Oh, and the vortex fragments are dropped from the Vortex Pillar in the Lunar Event which causes the Moon Lors fight.

Portal gun is Lamer than gravity globe, you probably have a magic mirror to teleport to base and you can reach basically anywhere on the map with A. Cosmic car key B. Wings + grapple C. Some blocks

Meowmere is only an 11% drop chance from Moon Lord (There's 9 weapons so its a guaranteed weapon drop but at random) Did Meowmere drop first time for you?

Jonas Sandell Pretty sure he said somewhere that "I know it's not perfect (IE Not dropping the Portal Gun)" but like I said before, it's a 1/9 (11.11%) of dropping one of 9 weapons, including Celebration (with that chance of getting a modifier, negative or positive aka "Annoying" (When my bro and I defeated Moon Lord, It dropped the Rainbow Crystal Staff and Star Wrath and we were Mage and Ranger ;-; feelsbadman)

Well it's not godlike at that point in the game but it's still helpful. Maybe he had it for dealing with normal enemies and he didn't have any ammo left for his non-bullet ammo guns
