Antique Indian Swords are truly something amazing to behold. However there is a lot of confusion on how to hold them and wield them. Here Gurudev Nidar Singh, the last master of the ancient art of Sanatan Shastra Vidya demonstrates the correct way of holding an Indian Sword as well as the key differences between this art and other weapon based martial arts.
Traditional India had amongst the widest variety of weapons in the whole of the ancient/medieval world. Unfortunately most of our Martial Knowledge has been lost. What is left is mostly for demonstrational purposes.
Sanatan Shastra Vidya taught by Gurudev Nidar Singh is one of those exceptions. The art he teaches is still very much rooted in Traditonal Indian Culture and the Ancient/Medieval Tactics that our ancestors developed over thousands of years.
