Aishwarya A it’s still terrible to feel unwanted and to be in a place where you are nothing. Maybe they are used to it but it still hurts. If you are constantly getting bullied you aren’t going to just get used to it. The words and actions people do hurt no matter if it happens everyday or once in a lifetime.

+Jeena A.V. because they are children... simple as that, I'm not saying that adults can be judged, no one needs to be. but kids are more vulnerable and being judged that way can cause them problems in the future that's why I'm saying " especially children " bc they can't defend themselves the way an adult can

Ok, this is heartbreaking but it also shows one of the biggest problem of child in the streets : They are OFTEN used as an attraction by the adults to try and steal things. It happens in all big cities with organised crime passing for homeless people, disminishing the struggle real homeless face everyday and bringing more and more suspicion toward them.

Anthony Mendoza yup, like in my country. there's lots, LOTS of ppl who pretend to be homeless when they aren't and even "rent" a child so ppl would give them money... so we never knew if a child who looked poos is actually homeless or is a "tool" used by adults for the sake of money, and if that child is not actually homeless if we tried to "help" would maybe cause alot complications. would be easier to help a child who looks like she actually had a family to return to it's parents, that's why

Youknow...if a child came up to me and asked for help..that's one thing. I'd defineately help. If a child stood there and I had spare time...I might've talked to her and asked how she was doing, if she was alone. If a child stood there and went into a lunchroom, walking by my tables...I'm sorry, but in a large city, I'd hold my bag too. it's just so common that they use children to steal the bags because they look sad and innocent. And stealing my bag for someone else wouldn't help the child, she'd sell all the stuff for one sandwich and lure for the next victim. As a citizen, all I could do is call the agency, not buying her food or taking her home.

Yes I am sure, Muhammad. Even the slightest favor can backfire. If this child is 'trained' by people to demand money, they're not the same child anymore. They will fight to survive. And if that means going into a restaurant and stealing money, they will do that. Possibly, they might even try blackmailing you and saying; 'I will scream that you touched me if you don't give me 5 dollar.' That's why authorities have to handle this. And get the child away from there as soon as possible. Also, even íf the child accepts your help and you buy her a small plastic tray with fruit, it only takes one bite of kiwi before she's on the ground, gasping for air. Children are sensitive and allergic to godknowswhat and you should never randomly give them food unless you are absolutely sure that they aren't allergic. Or old enough to tell you that they are. And a homeless child won't know if she is.

Powerful video with a powerful message. A child remains a child regardless of what they are wearing. How could people be so heartless?
@KaryuuTheBlade
@KaryuuTheBlade 7 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I wouldn't know what to do when I see a lone child standing around .... regardless of the clothes. I know from experience how hurt you can feel when people judge by clothes as I wasn't once so established/allowed to buy new clothes and wore old hand-downs from my aunt which caused me to suffer by classmates for over 10 years as they saw in me a person lower then themselves as obviously I (or my family) didn't had the money to buy the newest shit. The lesson I learned from that: I don't judge by appearance but by actions! But this is not a common view (and rather rare) and I can relate to all those peeps not helping as there are lots of children being abused for putting people into such situations and stealing their belongings. There are local warnings about this in some regions here in the EU. Not every child does, of course, but those warnings make people more wary to interact with a child. I think the street they tested that in wasn't really crowded - can't really tell as I don't know the city - but if that would happen here in Amsterdam I wouldn't even notice a lone child! The streets are so busy and my attention is to avoid bumping into someone or getting hit by a car or bike or avoid to become a theft victim :(

The fact is people have usually always been very shallow and superficial. But social media has only made things worse but has also allowed us to expose our deep flaws. Heavy value is put on appearance, financial and social status. It’s a dad thing to see, but an even worse thing to experience.

Tbh, it was pretty mean for the people in the restaurant to tell her to go away. (Girl covered in soot.) If you look at it from the girl's perceptive, those people are pretty heartless and should have helped the poor girl. If you look at it from all the strangers' perceptive, it's a bit different. When you see a well-dressed girl alone, the first thing you might think is she is lost and you want to help her. On the other hand, when you see a poor-looking girl, you would assume something else. Homeless people can't always be trusted because of people that imitate beggars or they could seem a bit insane. When you get that impression, people get scared. They wouldn't know a thing about that girl. The restaurant employees or manager need to do their job to live, and the girl could get in the way of that. The mom backing her child; she just wanted to protect him in case that girl could have had anything on her. They would rather take their bets on the girl well-dressed rather than the poor-looking girl because the people have to do what they got to do. I'm not saying that the people who turned the girl away are good people. I'm not saying to always trust a soot-covered girl. I'm not saying we as humans are monsters. I'm saying you should look at both sides of a story before you just call them out to be a complete asshole. I completely agree with UNICEF and I hope they can successfully make the world a better place for all the homeless children out there. #FightUnfair

Celisar1 true. if a child is dressed nicely it's more likely it's just a lost child who actually had a family and all you have to do, is find the parents and all ia done. but with homeless child you don't know what to do, to take them to some quite of shelted or provide them home that's sort of like "kidnapping" the child and what if the child is actually a child that an adult trained to pretend to be homeless to steal ppl's money? and if you try to give them food, what if they're allergic? maybe the reason they didn't help a child that looked homeless, is just that they didn't know what to do....

Kitten Mimi That's my thoughts as well. But don't be afraid of food allergies, they are very rare. It's mostly an american fear.

let us not rush to judge!! what just played out may actually have deep sociological reasoning, and which does not necessarily beget any animosity towards an impoverished child per second, as much as the advocates of the inequality theory may press you to believe. Poor children, in many societies are taught to steal and even injure people, sometimes by their own parents, who in turn partake substantially in the loot..the reaction of the people in this case may be towards that particular phenomena, which I trust the must have experienced in some measure or other in the past.. therefore let's not just rush to form judgemental conclusions about people with so little seen..hate to be a devil's advocate here but we so end up casting our own failings, misery, insecurities and hatred into other people's lives and actions believing that it effectively justifies and even perhaps redeems us, when actually it may be a juxtaposition of the reality!! Peace!!

There was time in my life when I left an unhealthy situation. My car was packed to the brim and I didn’t have enough money to fill my tank . I asked a guy in an expensive car if he could help me. He took a look at my car and realized I wasn’t joking. He filled my tank and ever since that moment I have been giving to the needy. Karma is real. What you put out comes back.

How can you conduct such an experiment with a child? for this girl the rejection she discovert was real and will mark her soul and influence her selfconfidence. I was like 'what are they doing' even before she did start crying. and then she really did start crying. she is not old enough to distinguish emotionaly between her role and her real self... How they mentioned they had to stop the experiment. yes, of course. Couldn't they think of it earlier? They are as stupid as the people who pushed that girl away

But think about it this way the same thing happen to the same age kids around the world and it's real.....how's that feel...ouchhh right if this experiment changes everyones mind then this is worth it...I gonna step up after seeing this I hope all does.....
