Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu became the first Figure Skater ever to break the 100 points barrier in the short program, competing in the men's event at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

The guy who made me addicted to Figure Skating this quarantine. I literally studied all jumps so that I'll know what type did he do, the techniques and elements. Sometimes while working, my mind suddenly hears Seimei or Note Stellata. I am crazy and in awe of his artistry, athleticism, and fun respectful personality.

I never taught that I will love figure skating because of Yuzuru..he tells a story when he performs..the aura elegance grace and artistry of his performance is so phenominal. No other skater up to this time can skate as lovely as him. And a history maker making him a legend. He puts so much love to this sports. You are the Greatest of All Time.

His skating is a magical combination of sport and art, power of an athlete and energy of a rock star. Yuzuru made me a fan of figure skating, and the biggest fan of him. Hmm, are you insinuating, that figure skating became popular in Japan because of Hanyu? Because it has been popular for much longer than that due to the fact that they have had so many stars in the sport.

Triple Axel well the sentence never said that figure skating in japan became popular because of Hanyu, did it?. His name wasn't even mentioned in the comment, but I'm pointing out the developments that helped lead to it becoming hella (more, very, really) popular(this video). He was part of the team and the long line of figure skaters that contributed to it's continuous popularity and helped the sport reach to new heights lately. That is if you consider the olympic record as a factor or catalyst to what has become of the sport in the country. "became hella popular" - slang determiner of extent.. granted that the current revelations did add more traffic and interest. I see it as a progress. Hmm, never said he was the origin, nor disregarding the achievements of the athletes before him. Don't be so conclusive.

In 2014, I saw Hanyu’s interview in a japanese tv & was impressed with the way he talks; so i decided to watch his programs and THIS was the first program i ever saw & was 😮 “Wow! Skating sure developed alot since last time i saw it!!” -but later i figured it was Hanyu’s skills that were on another level-!! I imediately sent the vid to my siblings & told them check this guy!!? He’s amazing!! & they too were impressed. ✨✨✨

I’m a huge fan of both and there are usually not much yuri comments on yuzu’s vids compared to how much haikyuu comments are on volley vids so I think this time it’s cuz the title is the same as yuri on ice’s op song
