UBI will be passed into law in 2030. Yes on abundance question.

@scoambrosino1251 the advancement of AGI and ASI could indeed lead to significant societal changes slowly. The introduction of universal basic income or other forms of subsidy might become necessary to address potential job displacement caused by automation and AI advancements. The U.S. could potentially adopt UBI within the next 20 years, setting a universal income floor above the poverty level.... but it will be up to the people of each economy to protests, I hope their will be a smooth transition from 2030 to 2045

It's also utter bulls**t. That supposed 16.7% quoted figure is just short of 6x slower than a human. I don't know what humans they are supposed to be measuring against, but I'm an extremely unfit, weak, somewhat uncoordinated person and I could easily do that more than 6x faster than the robot. @francescoambrosino1251 I think there will be UBI. There's a good case for it already, and with AGI Bots it will be undeniable. I think the universe is deterministic so I don't believe in free will, but I don't see the will of individuals being compelled beyond how they already are from laws and social pressure etc. Perhaps peoples will, will be swayed by AI because AI has the best answer for certain things, but the individual still has to "freely" decide to take or leave the AI advice. Yes I think we will enter an era of abundance, the marginal cost of energy, labour, compute, food etc is going to zero. Yes I also expect AI to surpass human capability both mentally and physically. But I have hope they will be compassionate, we are designing them with the goal of them being good, and intelligence usually correlates with being more charitable, understanding, emotionally intelligent, and moral. Hopefully they will not mistreat us the way our species mistreats animals, a huge moral blindspot on us humans IMO.

When comparing the efficiency of a production worker and an autonomous robot over their respective working periods, we find some intriguing results. A typical production worker operates at an average efficiency of 67.5%, effectively working 5.4 hours at full capacity during an 8-hour shift. If we extrapolate this efficiency to a 5-day working week, the worker provides 27 effective hours of work. On the other hand, an autonomous robot, moving at a speed equal to 16.7% of the typical worker's speed, achieves 4.008 effective full-capacity hours in a 24-hour period. Without taking downtime into account and assuming the robot operates every day, it provides approximately 28.056 effective hours of work over a 7-day week. In essence, the robot slightly edges out the human worker in terms of total effective hours contributed over a week, even when operating at a significantly reduced speed. This suggests that for continuous, round-the-clock operations, the robot represents an efficient alternative to human labor, particularly in roles where constant presence is more critical than speed. #AIgeneratedcomparison
@przecietnie_nieprzecietnyАй бұрын
Assuming a production worker covers 8 km during an 8-hour workday, an autonomous robot moving at 16.7% of the worker's speed would travel approximately 0.167 km per hour. Over a continuous 24-hour shift, this robot would cover around 4.008 km. Despite its slower speed, the robot's ability to operate round-the-clock without breaks allows it to achieve a considerable total distance, highlighting its utility in environments requiring constant, albeit slower, movement. #AIgeneratedcomparison

This is amazing, but please PLEASE fix the walking, I would suggest (not that I know anything compared to your company and the scientists there) using a body suit that tracks your movement while walking on a treadmill. I sincerely hope this reaches you, good luck.

It is a good proposal but risky since if the million-dollar robot falls from trying to run and breaks, then no. companies will like it

Picture this: A human can work for 8 hours (with fast walking) but will eventually get tired. Figure 01 can work for 24 hours slowly as long as it has power. So it isn't that much of a problem unless the task requires speed. And I am sure we will get faster robots. It's just that it's hard to control all the fluids in hydraulics to achieve fast movement (I assume figure 01 uses hydraulics. What else could it be using?) Edit: it actually has a runtime of 5 hours only so they either work on the speed or give it more power to achieve similar results to human workers. Also it's speed is 5m/s.

This is just Gen 1. Walking will improve

@@DanielMartinez-gj9bsa lot of the movements are taught through simulation. Nvidia has designed a robot simulation engine and a suite of tools to train robots which Figure uses. It’s faster and cheaper because as you said if the robot stuffs up it can be costly.

If you set playback speed to 2x, it still moves slower than a human.

If cars are going to be manufactured as they move, then the car should be ordered now.
