3-6khz boost is noticeable on male vocals?? And in the next comparison you call that range the upper mids? Wow, you should check out some sine waves. 440hz is known as the dial tone - I think you would be surprised how high pitched that tone really is. Measurements like these fail to display sonic characteristics like timbre, soundstage, imaging and decay. IMO the P1's dip in the 1-3khz region would be the most audible difference between these two. Alot of the music information is portrayed in this region.

confused between Sennheiser ie80s, fh5, Billie jean. have previously used ie80 (non s version) for 7 yrs and really liked them. the only con i could make out was in terms of vocals and instrument separation in rock tracks. i listen to mostly acoustic, vocals, rcok and the like, a warm sound signature is preferred. any help in choosing a good iem under 300usd would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Do these produce good sub bass, one that rumbles? Or will you need an amp with bass boost to get the sub bass to rumble?

Getting a good fit with Fh5 was hard, tips gave an overly tinny sound as bass kept leaking. Swapped for Campfire Comet, much better sound signature, fit and comfort.

Personally I prefer the sound of the FH1 over that of the FH5

@@masonlang1307 I'd have to listen to them again side-by-side, but from what I remember the FH1 just sounded more natural, not somewhat dark and lacking in the upper mids like the FH5

I own both and both are fantastic and pretty different. I use both almost every day. You get what you pay: soundstage, imaging, overall frequencies clarity.... Fh5 focuses more on sub bass (pretty rumble), lively vocals, crispy, clear , but not fatiguing highs. Fh1 is more focusing on mid bass and less overall clarity, etc...., but sounds also nice, enjoyable.
