FYI the cleaning brush has a pointy end with a protective sleeve on it. Remove the sleeve and there is the tool to use on the sound switches.

Love your reviews but gotta say these are easily a 5-star for me. Have had them for a couple weeks and they are lively. Incredible realism, massive soundstage depth (esp when used with spatial DSP), fantastic build quality, bass is exception. The treble is revealing and work best for dynamic recorded material. If something is sibilant it’s in the recording and the FH5S isn’t going to smooth it over. It isn’t a safe tuning. For myself, it works for all genres but especially well with classical, jazz, ambient and orchestral. For those that can handle it or that aren’t treble sensitive you are going to get true sense of air with your recordings. I do think they require not 200 hours of burn in but do require some serious listening time. I think sometimes we are so used to soft treble that it can be a bit of a shock with something like the FH5S but I think many would be surprised that given time they would warm up to the sound and the treble will sound correct. I do agree that Fiio missed an opportunity with the tuning switch to tame the treble to appeal to a wider audience. But there are lots of great IEMs out there but for a certain listener the FH5S is top value. My references are ER4SR (which is more neutral flat) and Focal Utopia (which is closest to a transparent reference with more refined treble than FH5S). For the price these are incredible.

The weird thing is that in a promo video a Fiio guy said they were mindful of complaints about treble on the FD5 and tried to avoid it. Other makers have put BA drivers right by the ear like Final Audio, Tanchjim and Etymotic with some success so it can be done but seemingly not by Fiio. What a shame, they get so much really right with build and accessories but, it is wasted if the tuning is off. Another great show.

Bought FH5 last week and for sure I'm loving them🙏

Using the BTR5 and the Fiio app when I switch the end on a cable to balanced the estimated output in the app goes up by 4 db which I clearly audible but the increase is not reflected in the volume slider, that stays the same. I can see how someone might think the balanced cable is making a big difference to the sound quality if it sounds louder at the same point on the volume slider.

In your every day carry, the famous EDC, would you take the SONY WF1000xm4 out or this? Im doubting between this and the fiio fh5s because i want good sound quality but at the same time i’m always out of home and anc is tempting. What would you choose?

I own the fh3 for half a year and the fh5s for a month, I'm looking for a more sub bass iem with warm mids and rich highs, the fh5s is to relaxed for my taste and I love the the deep punch of the fh3's bass and if there is any other iems that do I would love to know. I was looking at the mangrid tea and it might be my replacement for the fh5s. I would love to hear other people opinion on other iems.

Please answer, by using lossless files, with hi res supported DAC and hi res supported IEM or headphones, have you been able to differentiate between 320kbps file and lossless file?? If yes then how much was the difference?

I've read that by getting an LC/RC cable you could enhance the sound of the FH5s by adding more weight, dept, and overall cohesiveness to the sound while also smoothening out the treble response. Though this does make the price sit right on par with the FD5. So do you think it'll be worth getting or what other iem would you recommend in the 300$ price range? Thanks!!

I swap these and Campfire Polaris V2 with a Shanling M6. The Polaris are a lot louder ; they sound ok but just not enough of it.

the Pin of the brush is made to switch the switches. and it looks like you have switched on the treble switch tho, not the bass switch as you said

Have you had a chance to try the pro? Reviews seen to say that the different cable removes the higher trebble. I am very tempted to get it since it is about 100 quid cheaper than the Moondrop or Campfire equivalents (I wouldn't consider the campfire at this price point upon closer research).

hi there! i have a quick question if thats alright the tin hifi t3s are around $70 and the rose mini mkii's are around $150. It would take a while longer to save up for the roses, and the t3s sound like a better deal. i'm not exactly in a hurry to get an iem, and my budget is probably tops 150 (this is in aud btw) what should I do?

Hello there, Overall I like the fun, colorful and musical presentation. Also, it is very important for me that the bass is strong and distinct. How does the FH5s compare to its predecessor, the FH5, in fun, colorful and musical terms? It is said to be more neutral than the FH5. I frankly don't like the neutral presentation and find it lackluster. Which one should be preferred in this regard? My other options are Hidizs Mermaid MS4 and Shozy Form 1.4. Which of these do you think should be preferred? I mostly listen to pop and EDM genres.
