What’s happening today is the fact that the Chinese are completely disregarding international law and boundaries. Second of all, how is the Monroe Doctrine more severe than what China is doing. All it does is ask the Europeans to keep out of the Americas. We aren’t forcing them out and we aren’t going up to other countries and saying that this is ours. In addition, one of the basic points of the doctrine is that the US recognizes all existing colonies and dependencies in the Americas. Moreover, the US didn’t even enforce it properly (it was enforced by the British only when it was in their interest). Basically the doctrine was nearly nothing but a bunch of words and everyone at that time knew it. So how is it more severe than the Chinese going up to waters that are clearly another county’s and saying that it’s theirs and forcing everyone else to do what they want. And what is this “American mass media propaganda”? Are you saying the American government is using the mass media as propaganda? If it is I’m pretty sure it’s doing a terrible job.
