Women are desperately attempting to look better, younger, and more symmetrical with filler, but ultimately, it’s having the opposite effect. Let’s get into it.

I do understand that comment. I'm 55 tomorrow and it's hard / strange to see the first changes hinting of advancing age. I think it's knowing that life is entering another phase & older age is getting nearer. It's a privilege but it's also a challenge; to get accustomed to it, when life before that was all about the things of youth. I've had no cosmetic procedures; just used good skincare since my teens years. It would be very difficult to see the irreversible damage and changes caused by self inflicted procedures like fillers & Botox.

Love Island knows what they are doing too. By selecting women who aren't confident enough to leave their face alone, they are insuring a cast of women who fall apart the second they feel an ounce of rejection by a man. It makes for loads of drama and tears!

My 5 year old just finished kindergarten and there were so many days that she would come home and cry saying she needed make up because the other girls in her class wouldn’t be her friend unless she was pretty like them with all their makeup. It is definitely not a patriarchy problem, it’s girl against girl.
@katemiller7874

I agree it’s always been this way. At that age girls want to be around the cute girls with the stuff. The only reason my 5 year old had friends in the early years is because I dressed her cute. She had a cute backpack, hair clips whatever and I set up play dates because she was shy. By 3 rd grade she had friends and the girls coming over. It may sound superficial but it works. Oh they always have to be clean. You would be surprised at how many kids were sent to school stinky and got labeled stinky in kindergarten. Def no make up for you girl of course. But give her some confidence in clothes, shoes whatever she needs. By the time they are in high school they won’t care about that stuff. Mine didn’t bit it sure makes the elementary, middle school years tolerable. I know it hurts to see your child hurt but girls are ruthless. Much luck to ya❤️

it cant be easy i guess. women have always been valued for their beauty. it just seems that women today instead interpret this to mean that they need to stay hot forever which just makes them look older quicker. i think the issue with that is that the modern female is 'wasting' her beauty instead of maximising it for her life benefit.

Although she is right about not using harsh cleansers all the time, there’s TONS of mild cleansers that are made from oatmeal, coconut oil, and many other soothing & conditioning oils. My wife is 45 and doesn’t need a damn thing! I saw this trend in Miami 25 years ago and a woman that was only 25 that lost all of her muscle in her jaw and had to have reconstructive surgery to retain her facial muscles. Botox is a neurotoxin and should be used sparingly for things like migraines in the back of the neck, and potentially at the temples. I’m so glad Brett is bringing attention to this.

I'm 40, I've always been slow at aging. Two months ago a lady thought I was 19 and yesterday I was asked to produce ID for trying to buy alcohol for my friend. I was refused service because I didn't have any ID on me at the time. Genetics plays a huge part (thank you Serbian mum) however, I've led a clean life, being a dancer helped, but I have moisturised my entire life. It all helps.

My brother banned us from putting makeup, even a little, on my niece. I was helping my mom for a wedding and my niece kept pointing at the eyeshadow and her eye and I put a little pink eyeshadow just for fun. The same week, my sister was babysitting her and also put eyeshadow on her for fun. 3 days later my brother texted us saying, no more makeup on her. She has a cyst on her eye. That cyst was on her for a week. Granted she’s 3 and her skin is still sensitive but still. You don’t need any of this under 30

It' shocking how many teenaged girls are seriously considering contorting their faces and bodies. This is the result of adults behaving as if children and teenagers are their equals and capable of making decisions for themselves. There are times when children and teenagers should be given autonomy, and there are times when they should be given guidance, protection, and where necessary, prohibition (with a full explanation as to why something is being prohibited). Adults gave their children too much autonomy, and this left them suggestible to malign cultural influences. It's a frightening situation.

I got a nose job finally at 30 but I had broken it over 8 diff times from ages 4-12... (older brother) so I felt like it didn't look how it is was supposed to .. I pretty much got the lil bump out and straightened it.. and I'm beyond happy.. but yea I never have considered anything else... and I'm very glad I waited till I was older and wiser and my face was fully developed.

Yeah, I am 25 years old now, and not to sound any kind of way, but I have grown into my features so well, I feel like I look so beautiful. I also hated my nose, it was very wide on my face, I didn't have as defined of a jawline as I would of liked, and I had high cheek bones but fluffy cheeks, Now everything is very angular and womanly and just works so well together. Allow yourself to age before you make these changes!

I’m 39 and other moms in my son’s kindergarten class think I’m in my twenties. The key is good hydration, I love aloe vera water, lots of veggies, beans, nuts and quinoa. And NO face products. Just good quality makeup on special occasions! Keeping stress low and following a good Christian lifestyle. Drama and chaos will add years to your face.

For some people keeping stress low is not an option as it can be factors outside of their control. Some people do all of that and more and look their age or older. This is part of the harmful narrative. You look your age *gasp how dare you* or older so you are doing something wrong. You are not enough if you do. Is that true though? Isn't that harmful? Aren't you perpetuating what you claim to fight? Is it ok to look your age?

@@thvtsydneylyf3th077Yes, I always make my own. Here’s my recipe:) #1- Cut bottom off one aloe leaf and stand up in water for 1 hour. This removes poison #2- Cut off green skin and rinse under cold water #3- Chop into pieces and add to a large jug of water (I usually put one leaf into 1.4 liter jug) #4- Let rest in fridge for 6-8 hours *It gets thicker and more potent the longer it rests. I will drink for 3 days and freeze the left over aloe pieces for smoothies Enjoy 🥰

As a teen girl who is also went through puberty younger, im taller than the average 15 year old, chubbier, and we have a similar nose, and what you said made me feel so much better 😭😭 having the face of teen but the body of than adult is sooo confusing, I’m always so confused about my body and face. Ppl confuse me for a 18/19 year old, and when I hold my baby sisters or watch them ppl think I’m their mom (I’ve been asked if I was their mom wayyy to many times 😭😭) also the nose job part was so real! Thank you for sharing your experience 😭💗💗

I was once told a story by a friend who asked her grandma (when we were kids) why she never got her ears pierced. And her grandma said "If I was meant to have those holes in my ears then God would've put them there Himself." That has stuck with me over the years. I am now 40 and don't look my age, because I stayed away from tanning beds, harsh cosmetics/skin care products, fillers, plastic surgery, etc. I love how I look and my husband doesn't complain either.
