I've been playing Planet Zoo a lot this past weekend. I'm 'slightly' obsessed. Spending so much time around these wonderful 'virtual' creatures and being able to rotate around them and see them from all angles made me really want to sit down and draw some of them. I'm not sponsored or anything. But it's why I'm thinking about animals and I thought some of you might enjoy the game too.
I said I was gonna draw Zoo Animals and then I immediately thought of an elephant cuz that was the animal I remember seeing there as a kid. This video is about drawing animals not a dialog about Zoos. I just really enjoy the game, lol.

Thanks Sophie! Drawing people taught me to break down complex shapes into simpler forms and that is really helping my moving into new things like animals. Glad you like them! 💜

The “horse-like” animals are all considered "equidae", Waffles :) It seems like "equine" is accepted in common speach, even if it's not technically correct since it just means "horse". I hope you can see this! PD: Elephants, hippos and rhinoceros are all pachyderms (hard skin in Greek) and I think that makes them share some characteristics as in why they're so wrinkly, but, as someone in the comments down below posted, they're not related species! :D Hope the info helps! Actually elephants,, hippos and rhinos aren't related at all :) elephants are actually more closely related to aardvarks, manatees and rock hyraxes. They're in the family afrotheria. Hippos are even toed ungulates or artiodactyls, and related to whales, pigs, deer, antelopes etc. And rhinos are odd toed ungulates (perissodactyls) and related to horses and tapirs :)

Horses are equines. That includes zebras, Ponies, donkeys. The only thing not technically classed as an equine (breed wise) but is still part of the family is a mule as it can’t reproduce.

I remember a time where me, my mom, my stister, my moms friend and her son and daugter went to the zoo and you could come close up to the rhinos and stick your hand through the bars and pet them. But the bars had a big space between them so my moms friends son lets just call him Antonio somehow fit his little four year old body through the bars and then poof he was on the wrong side of the bars and walked right up to a rhino that was about five times the size of him and none of us could get to him so we just tried to call him and get him to go back and after i don’t know how long we got him out (he didn’t get hurt) but yeah that was that trip to the zoo😂

I tried to draw a giraffe earlier "/ It looked like it was crossed with a Llama lol these look great. I need to learn drawing elephants. I wanna create a little book for my daughter who's 4. She wants her character to be a pink elephant named Kadrina :) aha xx

When it said “and then I lost some footage” I literally freaked out cuz I’m following along and you r currently my reference and you completed a whole ostrich right there and I wasn’t even halfway through!
