amazing plug in. I have spent days making gridfinity boxes and never run across this. Thanks!

I love that you rolled the toolbox into the beam to confirm it was too tall lol I also use this method

My dad uses a variation of the method where if it doesn't fit the first time, you pull it back and try a little harder to be sure, and if its close the second time, you try a third with a little added swearing and even more force.

I had no idea what the plug-in for fusion 360, and to be honest I’m still trying to wrap my head around fusion 360 as a new user. I’ve just been modifying existing Gridfinity bins in the Bambu lab slicer as best I can … lol

A completely smooth and easy to turn spool will have troubles with unbalanced spools unwinding themselves. A little bit of friction keeps a tiny bit of tension so the filament stays well spooled too.

You are completely right, but I think there is a sweet spot between completely free spinning and just resting on a piece of metal

Subbed. I like the comparison between click and non-click baseplates, when I started out there wasn't that option... I may have to refit some of my own drawers now! Also, if you print the click baseplates out of PETG, you'll get a lot more springy action and they won't work harden like normal PLA, helping to negate some of the downsides outside of print time.

Thank you! Yeah the creator of the clickfinity actually strictly advises to not use PLA, so that was my fault...but the normal grids have been doing a great job so far!

Subscriber number 99! I just started a similar project of turning a small room in my house into a usable shop space, excited to follow you. Been considering documenting mine as I go too, but all I'm likely to do is pictures and small clips, really excited to see your full vids :D

Great video. The Bambu is a great upgrade, and there’s now an aftermarket touch screen by BigTreeTech. I did the same in my toolbox just need to finish.

Thank you! I've seen the BigTreeTech touch screen and it does look really nice. I rarely use the screen on the p1s, so the stock one does just fine for me though

i like this! personally since this would be for me I wouldve tried to make efficient use of my screwdrivers and possibly print it all in once piece of design the grids to be half of a cutout
@AnotherAlex901
@AnotherAlex901 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah there is a definitely a lot of space to be saved, but it worked out with the amount of screwdrivers I wanted to fit in

Great video! I happen to have (I think) the same label printer (Katasymbol E10) and you don't have to cut the label yourself. There's an integrated cutter on the side (where you load a new labelroll)!

Looks nice, but sooo much unused space between the single screw drivers... I do like the gridfinity trays though.
@AnotherAlex901
@AnotherAlex901 Ай бұрын
Yeah I wanted the screw driver holders to be independent and it left quite some space unused. I have also seen designs with multiple parts that are packed very dense on thingiverse etc.

Awesome stuff! I'm starting down the gridfinity path as well, love seeing how other folks are using it. How did you like the kaizen foam vs gridfinity?
@AnotherAlex901
@AnotherAlex901 4 ай бұрын
I think the foam is perfect for bigger stuff like the power tools and the gridfinity is way easier to use for the smaller things. I can't imagine printing big bins for powertools or making small cutouts in the foam. I already struggled on the big cutouts!

If i may give you some points, 1 come quicker to the point, you drag things out sometimes than you made a video about organisation and than you drift of to a 3d Printer that took forever. make two video's on about the printer and one about your tool organisation and stop talking down on yourself, be confident. and when you make a mistake don't leave it as is but fix it, that is how you grow and learn. in the foam you can buy one of those small round sanders or small belt sander works too than you can flatten the bottoms or first make your contour cut slowly with the machine in and use a scalpel to do so so you can come closer to the machine than open that up a bit with your fingers , than cut to the dept you want it and than you take out the layers bit by bit.till you on the debt you need to be. Teach yourself to be precise from start with everything you do, and fix the mistakes you made. we all make them but we got better in hiding them. or fix them. wel keep the video's coming i am looking forward to see how you grow. check out crafted workshop he made something similar. don't take this as a negative because it is not meant like it.
