Enjoyed the video and the beautiful locations. I’m getting ready to move house so my cameras are packed away, getting a photography fix via the video!

Great stuff as always! Your exposures are always so spot on - nice work. I'd be curious to know more about your editing process when you digitize. Just as with printing in a darkroom, I find my "straight out of camera" images of my negs often look questionable but can usually be fixed up in post on the computer after. All the better to get a good negative right out of the camera though! Again, thanks for posting these.

Thank you, I think a video showing my work in lightroom would be a great idea and something I like the sound of. I basically use the same principles as in the darkroom, which is get as much right in the camera as possible. I then adjust the contrast like you would in the darkroom with filters. Then use some dodging and burning to get the desired look. Many thanks Tom

Cheers Tom. Excellent photos .............. except the 10 stop - I prefer water to look like water rather than a fuzzy mess. I've never tried a red filter but use an orange quite often. Take care on those clifftops.

Thanks Very much Ray, I’m always extra cautious when out on the cliffs. I’d recommend the red filter if you like the extra contrast. Many thanks Tom 👍

Great video Tom. Lovely locations and film images. How do you find Delta 400. Its a film I would like to try, as I really like the tones and grain of Delta 100 as seeking hight ISO stock for the winter. I do like XP2 as well.
@tomwhelan Жыл бұрын
It’s a lovely film I should use more often. It’s got a very fine grain for a 400 speed film, I would highly recommend it. I’m yet to try xp2 because of the c41 processing. Ive heard amazing things about it though.

You really do have some spectacular scenery around you. My favourite was the harbour shot at 5:40. One question: you said twice "250mm zoom". Is that really a zoom lens?
@tomwhelan Жыл бұрын
Thanks Alfred the view from the top was incredible, I’m really happy with image you like at 5.40. The lens is not a zoom it’s a fixed focal 250mm, sorry about that I’m not sure why I said zoom 🤣 All the best Tom.

HI, I enjoyed the photos very much. I wonder why you switched from FP4 to Delta 400 given you were using a tripod so longer exposure times weren't a problem?
@tomwhelan Жыл бұрын
Hi Rupert i just fancied shooting Delta 400 because I hadn’t shot it in a while. It also has lovely contrast and thought it would work well with images of the cliffs. All the best Tom 🙏
