I officially support this theory man! Exploring Elsa's magical origins proper by leading to her not being Anna's biological sister but Princess Rapunzel's twin would've been THE Frozen sequel I would've wanted...and it would have made more sense for Anna to be Arendelle's Queen since she's the King and Queen's only biological descendant.

This theory would've explained why Elsa's parents were so focused hiding her powers instead of making any attempt whatsoever at helping her learn to control them. I always thought that was odd. You don't deal with magical powers by locking them up and hoping they just go away. Not to mention, Elsa seems to master her powers pretty quickly when she finally decides to "let it go."

I love this theory but I just want to point out that if Pascal is living over the normal chameleon age, Rapunzel is probably healing him so he can live for longer, so she doesn't lose her closest friend. Edit: OMG Yay! My stupid comment has over 100 likes thank you so much!

@@brownwolf5766 not really...it actually confims it. The fifth element isn't real. All the other elements are obviously. The "spirt" is an actual spirt of her parents who died. They create this fake proficiency before her Elsa figures out that her "cousin" is actually her twin after they met at her coronation.

This was the first video I ever watched from Film Theory and from the Theorists at all. I thought it was incredible and I still do. I've been watching since beginning of middle school and will graduate high school next year. It's been a wild ride and I'm so thankful to have found this awesome channel when I did. I will miss MatPat and his crazy theories so much but Im equally glad that he's taking time off to spend more time with his family. I love how the directors literally CONFIRMED all these theories (ie. The parents were going to rapunzels wedding, the Tarzan theory, etc.) then they just threw that all out the window in Frozen 2

Exactly, they thought it all worked out until people noticed discrepancies in those theories and Disney retconned them to not look bad. I really think they made Frozen 2 just to disprove those theories and nothing else.

Anna said that their parents told everybody they were heading south of Arendelle, so I like to think that they were using Rapunzel and Flynn's wedding as a cover story to make the timelines still work.

Cool theory, but one thing is bugging me: When Anna was hit with Elsa's ice blast, a part of her hair turned the some color as Elsa's hair, meaning the hair color could be a side-effect of the ice powers and not genetics.

+Izzy A I was thinking along the same lines but not along the same lines. Elsa has white-ish hair, and when she blasts Anna in the head, Anna gets a white-use streak of hair. When Gothel cuts a strand of Rapunzel's hair off right in the beginning of the movie, it turns brown. So it might just be a side-affect of the powers of the flower or something?????

+Izzy A Mat says that the hair coloured is explained by the powers/the flower thing Rapunzel's mother drinks, not genetics (the only thing explain by genetics is eyes, unless I recall incorrectly). Plus the same could be said for Rapunzel.

In a Disney short called "Olaf Presents", there is more evidence that the universes are connected. When Olaf talks about the movie Tangled, he describes it as "A story about a *CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND OF MINE* thus proving it!

hmm, So while watching this, I had a thought. Surprisingly simple, so much so that it can't possibly be right, but maybe? One baby took more to the flower itself, The other took more to the water that the flower enchanted. While they both have like powers, it's born from different sides of the same coin. Water is respected as a giver of life. snow and ice are formed from water. The earth is also considered a giver of life, plants grow from the soil, much like hair on the scalp. Maybe?

I like it! Also, Elsa and Rapunzel have connected powers, but they also complement each other. They're both good powers, not curses. They both create and give life. But Elsa's is obviously centered on cold, while Rapunzel's has a warmer feel. White hair, cool colors, mountains and ice, vs golden hair, warm colors, spring and flowers. Twins usually are foils to each other; like two sides of the same coin, right? Just my thoughts.

Something else he forgot to mention was the color of their magic. Yes they are opposite, but when Elsa is alone in the castle the ice around her glows yellow when she is anxious, and Rapunzel's hair glows yellow... with bits of purple.😊😊🤔🤔🤔

The real explanation is that, in frozen 2, when Elsa and Anna's parent's were kids, Anna and Elsa's mom was from a tribe and their dad was from Arendelle, Arendelle and the tribe of Anna and Elsa's mother were enemies, while Arendelle and the tribe were fighting, Anna and Elsa's father was in danger, so Anna and Elsa's mom saved their dad when they were kids and as for elsa, she was the reward given to her mom because her mom saved her enemy which is Anna and Elsa's dad, that's why they don't have the same hair color, elsa was given powers as a reward for the kindness of her mom.

I agree with this theory but think that the two moms are sisters Picture this... 2 Young sisters of noble blood go to two separate kingdoms. They both end up marrying the princes and become Queen. Then when 1 sister has twins and one is kiddnapped, she send the other to live with the childs nearby aunt, the Queen of a nearby kingdom.. I mean this explains why the parents give their possibly only living child to a seemingly random neighboring Monarchy.

If you watch once upon a time (might not be cannon so dont take it to seriously) in one of the episodes you meet 3 little girls. Elsa and Anna's mom Gerda(the youngest), Helga(the middle sister), and Ingrid(the oldest). In this story, Ingrid is the reason for Elsa's ice powers because she was also born with ice powers. Things happened between the 3 sisters which is why Elsa's parents did what they did so she wouldn't end up like Ingrid.
