Can confirm the whole silent heart attack thing. When my dad had his fatal heart attack last year his only symptom was fatigue for three days. He just thought the heat had gotten to him since we had a heatwave of 115° a couple weeks prior he didn't realize something was actually truly wrong until he was slipping into cardiac arrest.

I have CFS and I was just on a 2am spree of watching film theories I haven’t seen yet since I can’t sleep and I was actually shocked when you mentioned CFS. CFS doesn’t get talked about a lot and we’re constantly dismissed by medical professionals as just depressed or stressed out or hysterical, so it made me smile when I heard you factually talking about it. You seem to understand it better than literally every doctor I’ve seen. I was kind of like the grinch at first, struggled with walking, noise, light, lots of people, breathing, heart rate, all of that, and now it’s at the point that I can only get around in a power chair and I can’t do anything independently anymore. It’s just nice to see it being recognised as a real thing and a possible reason behind someone being a bit of a ‘grinch,’ when he’s actually been going through it all along. Thanks for being great as always MatPat x

Same here. Was so shocked when he mentioned it, and in a way that acknowledged it as a real condition, rather than dismissing it as not real, or just “in our head” like most “professionals” do. I think my heart grew three sizes in happiness 😄

I originally thought that the Grinch had PTSD. When watching the Grinch re-boot I noticed that it gives a flashback of when the grinch was a child, this showed him being neglected by The Who’s on Christmas Day, and and also being made fun of by who children. I think that, all the neglect he got at such a young age made him develop a dislike for Christmas. Also I can I just point out how well the re-boot represents an anxiety attack in public. It was so well done and it touched my heart so much I almost started to cry in the theater. Thank you for reading this comrade.

Courtney Johnson oh yes! I absolutely loved the movie, it had such good attention to details in the animation! I think it’s a great movie for all ages, my little sisters loved it, I loved it, hell, my mom liked it XD so yes. I suggest it to anyone who liked the original (or didn’t)

I think the movie got too much hate. It isn’t perfect in any way, but I think it’s better than the Jim Carrey one. I think it has good humor, animation, story, and has entertainment value.

In another Dr suess book/movie (I forgot the name) they say that The Who’s have to make a lot of noise not to be killed because they live on some dust thing, flower? Idk. So they must keep making noise because in the movie it says they make noise all year round, not just Christmas. So technically with the grinch taking all the toys, he’s killing his species.

My sister has CFS and omg the grintch definitely has it. Another symptom of CFS is sensitivity to light so the grintch could have hated christmas even more because of all the christmas lights edit: as someone kindly reminded me extreme irritability is also another symptom.

In 2019 I was unemployed and so stressed out i had a mini stroke and fell face first on my glasses and broke them. I had thought I had a hypoglycemic episode but when I went to urgent care in 2020 I offhandedly mention the episode which had only been 2 months prior and he (the doctor assigned to me) looked at me funny. Come to find out I had a mini stroke at 25 and now I have to actively avoid stress which is in fact very stressful 😅

CHRISTMAS THEORY IDEA: Rudolph’s nose. Is it possible? I kinda figure it is, because of bioluminescence, but what would he use it for? What did his parents suffer through (plus many a generation before them) that cause their son to have a nose that glows? Bioluminescence, sure, but WHY? The other reindeer freak out when they see him, so it’s not for attracting mates. It’s not for defense as it lures the abominable to him all the time. It’s not to attract food because he’s a herbivore! I would say “plot convenience” but A) it was a song first and B) this is the theorist channel. Those explanations just aren’t fun at all.

Wow. If Mat’s Grinch theories are true, that means the Grinch has *multiple* underlying medical conditions. The hearing one (I forgot what its called) and Small Heart Syndrome & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which would actually be made worse by the hearing condition since CFS already makes you more sensitive to noise. And if he didn't get immediate medical attention after the end of the movie, he's probably dead now

@@michaelsmithson6533 Not all headphones though. A decent pair of Skullcandy bluetooth headphones can be as cheap as $50. Still pricey, but probably the best price-to-quality ratio it there. Then, of course, there's earbuds, which I greatly prefer, and a decent pair really doesn't need to be more than $10, which is how much Skullcandy earbuds cost at Walmart.
