Back in 1980s college film classes, professors would discuss how 1950s monster movies were a metaphor for Cold War paranoia. This theory fits in with that concept. Even if the parallels being discussed are unintended they're still have a significance fore being there at all.
@deviousangel336
@deviousangel336 9 ай бұрын
Yeah, Godzilla was a metaphor for the bombs dropped in Japan during WW2. The ironic part is that it's also a victim of those same bombs being dropped, causing it to grow to its enormous size and gain its powers. I'm pretty sure that they even say in the movie that this is the first of many Godzillas. It's a shame the rest of the movies lost the metaphor.

@@deviousangel336 Not really, like the metaphor is still present but the other movies have other things to talk about. There was another Godzilla and other forces that awoke in the post-Godzilla age, and just as Japan adopted nuclear power and gained greater concerns, Godzilla also became more of a dangerous ally.

Calling Oppenheimers beginnings “humble” is a huge stretch. Dudes family was so rich that when he attempted to poison a teacher at Cambridge not only did he not get arrested he didn’t even get suspended because his dad made a huge donation to the school.

@@shiven513it's quite literally next level film making. It's because we can't always follow the year to start with is what makes it so brilliant. You actually have to think about it for the whole movie to fit and it fits perfectly. Oppenheimer is just perfect, quite literally my only complaint is that it was a film including the events of world war 2 and didn't have any battle scenes but the way the movie was scripted. It never needed it, it is appealing to every type of audience who find one form of education appealing. This is probably my 3rd best film i ever watched and i was able to actually feel the emotion of the character which hasn't happened since endgame when Iron man died. Except in this case it happened for half of the film.

Well, altough 'Barbieheimer' was a sucess Warner made it out of spite: they refused to change their movie's date just to outshine Nolan's movie (the 'government' working against Oppie). The thory even parallels the movie's main villain being played by Robert Downey Jr which played Tony Stark/Iron Man and quickstarted the MCU (Nolan started everything with Batman but using his original formula the industry created something even bigger that is growing out of control).

Even if Nolan got a chance to do a Star Wars film, there’s no way the executives in charge of LucasFilm will let him do it his way. Case in point: the previous directors of Solo: A Star Wars Story before they were fired, replaced by Ron Howard and a large chunk of their film being reshot. He’d have better luck staying with Universal Studios and not have to worry about Executive Meddling as much. And they’ve got a few good big franchises that he could work with or even reboot with a grounded realism like he did with Batman.

I wanted to go see it but I realized that everyone on the screen was on strike. And I wondered if buying a ticket was like crossing a picket line. I will see it eventually. When the strike is over.

Maybe you can't do new movies for a while but that just means you can do more Tv stuff. Like maybe theirs a bigger reason why there's been a literal onslaught of cancellations over the last year and a half.
@deviousangel336

He already kind of covered that in the Disney is Dead video. Companies are spending way too much money on CGI and don't feel confident in the finished product. As a result, they're doing a lot of re-shoots, costing them even more. In the end, they aren't able to make back the money they spent, so they cancel the show. That or they don't feel confident in an upcoming show and cancel it before it even gets a chance.

It would be so cool if you could do a game theory on the VR games Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator! The basic outline of the game is that you’re the only human left alive and a bunch of these robots are showing you how ancient humans used to function. Anyway, it would be so cool if you could do a theory explaining how humans went extinct. But there is this one moment where they mention a “human uprising” which makes me think that maybe we aren’t extinct? I don’t know what I think, but it would be so cool to see you guys do a video!

I always dreamed of being a movie producer and making movies based on alternative history of human events the what ifs of human history and I always wanted my movies to be wrote and directed in Christopher Nolans style of storys always seemed like it would fit the narrative.

The Kevin Costner movie "13 Days" works as a great 'Sequel" to Oppenhemier. Similar quick talking, pacing, amd interpretation of history about the Cuban Missle Crisis ( the kinf of situation that was alluded to at the end of Oppenheimer)... highly recommended, very good movie.

My only issue with this theory is that it can be argued the super hero craze didn’t start with Nolan, instead being due to Tim Burton’s Batman (1989). Other than that, this is top-tear film analysis. Reminds me of the ones I read in college.

He would do a JFK movie before any other movie now. He is getting an interest in those last two movies, which they definitely need, but Matpat probably forgot that in Tenet, they talked very shortly about Oppenheimer. Then they talked very shortly about JFK, probably making a hint of what movies Nolan would want to do. Either way I'll watch them all.

We know there's 3 types of Star Wars films planned, the Old Republic, way before the Clone Wars, a Rogue One for episodes 6 and 7 that's linked to the Filoni shows, and episodes 10-12. If Nolan gets into any of those, that could be fun.

That….actually might work. But…Christoper Nolan needs to have control of the wheel. A big reason that great directors sometimes make a bad mad movie is not because it isn’t there fault, but sometimes because movie corporations are leaning over the directors shoulder. That’s not always the case, but it can be. A big concern I had was when the second Avatar was coming out. But only because James Cameron had control over it and wouldn’t let Disney choose who to be apart of production did that movie turn out good. So I hope that if Christopher Nolan does make a deal with Disney on Star Wars he’ll have control of the wheel and the Disney Executives will just let him cook
