I have an uncle who tried to keep every single toy he ever had and keeps them in a room. The room doesnt look creepy, its actually quite nice. He takes extremely good care of every single one of them and (I'm not embarrassed to say this) even plays with them to this day. He says that he used to believe that toys were alive when he was young. He says he does it for the nostalgia. I give him the toys that I have lost interest in. If there ever is a toy war, this man will survive.

Everytime I would set aside my toys to go to the secondhand store, especially if they were ones that I loved dearly but no longer needed/used or thought about, I would say "thanks for the memories, hope you bring as much joy to the next kid as you brought to me". Seems extra weird here in text, but it made sense to me years ago in my late teens.

One issue with this: Mr. Potato Head is the only type of toy we see controlling their own severed body parts. When Buzz's arm falls off, it's dead, devoid of life. Same with Woody's arm in the sequel. There's clearly a center of consciousness for these toys

Keep in mind that the toys can also gain the trust of animals. For example in TS2 when Woody yells gotcha! To Andy's dog he plays along, however when Andy does a similar trick he just gets ignored by him......... Imagine the allies the toys can gain O_O

I was always terrified of the toy story movies as a kid, still am actually 😅. If they did come to life they would probably hate me, let's just put it as I got distracted easily and liked to chew on anything. Over half of my disney princess toys that had that plastic thing in their leg so it could bend ever so slightly ended with it poking out through their chewed ankles :( I didn't want to mistreat my dolls but it was habit as a kid. I also lost all their clothes so they were pretty much all naked. My stuffies I would be more safe from though, love those guys :D

I somewhat understood this as a kid when I first watched Toy Story and it made me feel worried about my toys. Sure, it kinda faded over the years because I grew up, but I tried to take care of mine. I have a huge stuffed bear that I've had since I was two- making him 15 years old now. He's gone with me everywhere I've been and I wouldn't give him up for anything

One small problem with the ending. Mr. Potato head taking over a tortilla is an ability exclusive to him and any other potato heads. Buzz and Woody have both lost in arm at some point. From that point, until they were re attached, Buzz and Woody had no control of the arm that they lost. Woody even lost control of it when his arm was only partially ripped off.

Especially seeing as companies such as Games Workshop have made their money off of essentially printing Millions upon millions of toys imagine if every single Warhammer 40K and Warhammer miniature as well as any other historical miniature comes to life and tries to attack us some of those were artillerymen Navy men infantryman literal Professionals in The Art of War we would be screwed

Wow. I’d never thought that deeply into the lore of Toy Story but these hypothetical ideas are very interesting! The list of things that cause a war in society were insightful for real life too. This is definitely one of my favorite theories from the channel!

A human knowing about the masquerade would be VERY powerful. They could, for example, 'play' with something really powerful/dangerous like a construction vehicle, stick some googly eyes on it somewhere, name it, etc., until it's considered enough of a toy to come to life. You wouldn't know immediately, but if you could convince it and/or manipulate it into coming to life and being loyal to you, you could have an anomalous, immortal servant machine.

I think you got the thing with Mr. Potato Head and the tortilla wrong. He didn’t make the tortilla come to life, he was in control of his parts off of his main potato body and also the tortilla was still flopping around like a normal one so i’m gonna debunk that right now.

Totally agree. When I hold an object I don't have "physical control over it", I can just manipulate it with my hand and fingers. Mr. Potato Head was dragging the tortilla around by his arms and legs, that's why it kept flopping around. He never had direct control over it.

I have an idea for a theory on toy story. I know it’s been a while since the movie came out and you probably have better things to do, but I have theory about Woodie. I think Woodie was Andy’s FATHERS. His father abandoned him and the only thing he left his son was Woodie and the cow boy hat. It’s the reason why it was so hard for him to let Woodie go. And why he described Woodie that way to Bonnie. “He is ALWAYS THERE For you, and will never give up on you. You can choose to do a video if you want it was just an idea for a potential theory you could do 😁.

Once, when I was in a really depressed state, I made a really crude drawing of a stuffed bear with a missing button eye, stitched parts, and stuffing falling out and wrote under it "you don't need to be alive to be broken" with a tear under the button eye. Then, after cuddling up and crying with my giant teddy bear (he's like 3 feet tall), I went back, erased the frown and made a smile. I have at least 100 toys and, unfortunately, most are in an old VINTAGE chest in the garage but I remember each and every one of them. Even before I saw this movie, I've always believed my toys were alive in one way or another and that's carried with me through all my toys into my 30's! I literally sleep with 4 stuffed bunnies under my arm, my giant bear sits in a chair next to the bed with my mom-made Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls, and a ceramic bisque doll from the 1800's from my great-great-grandmother from France! I don't care what others say; to me, ALL TOYS HAVE SENTIENCE. ❤

When I was younger I thought my toys were alive and I had more than a bin's worth of toys. When we were evicted, we had to leave most of our stuff behind including the bin of toys (I did manage to stuff a few in my backpack). I thought that my toys would follow me and say "master, why did you leave us and bring them"

I have probably almost 100 stuffed animals... And other toys like lps and mlp, barbie, etc. I have always treated them like my children and protect them as much as I can.
