The Superbowl was in Vegas this year too so there was certainly an increased demand for Vegas footage for promos.

Great tips! When it comes to cities, I think there is way too many drone shots, and I would love to see more on the ground shots with great compositions, and not as popular spots, but enough character to define the city

Thanks for this video. I've tried a couple stock footage sites and have sold nothing. But, I think your suggestion of filming unusual angles of the location or subject is a smart idea. Also, I didn't know until now that Artgrid accepted stock footage from new sources. I will definitely start thinking of new ways to capture stock footage. I've already glanced through your guide before watching this video and feel inspired already. Many thanks.

Hi Matt, thanks for the informative video! Just a couple of questions here. What stock sites are the best for vertical videos to sell? And is it necessary to shoot on 4k? Is it possible to sell footage filmed on lower quality (I only have Sony A7 ii at the moment)? Thanks in advance.

Interesting, but a bit short on details. How much do you make per clip? Also, seems that the videos shown would need property release or model release forms unless submitted as editorial content?? Judging from the other comments, there are many other things to deal with??

Hey Matt! Love your content. I tried to put some videos in Adobe Stock, and they blocked the possibility to selling my videos by telling me confused things. From subjectivities like "your video doesn't have too much comercial appeling" to "we don't allow brands appear", this process frustraded me a lot. I know that you are telling about other platform in the video, but I think they have some restrictions too. How did you manage this issues? Thanks!

What fps would you recommend for people living in PAL countries? I want to start filming stock videos, but wonder whether the frame rate is important for download numbers. I could film in 24/30/60/120 fps, but would then have trouble with some artificial lights in my country. Do you know if a switch from PAL to NTSC would be worth it? And what about Apple ProRes vs DNxHR? Is there a difference in download numbers? In general, I don't want to start filming stock video, that then does not meet the technical needs of most people.

Cool video, can you please advice on what would be better for stocks footage on your opinion: full frame 4k 10 bit 4:2:0 or aps-c 4k 10 bit 4:2:2? Can't decide between nikon zf and fujifilm x-s20/x-h2s. Thanks

Thx for such an immediate response) awesome. Maybe you can answer one more question. If the camera records only in h.264/265, should I export my graded log footages converted to prores from h.254/265, using premiere pro for example. Is it work like this: converting h264/5 to prores if the camera can't record in prores itself? Thanks

dam how did you get away with those vegas and times square clips? I never used artgrid, but I use blackbox and all my times square pandemic clips got rejected because there were logos in the shot like from store signs and billboards. becuase of that, it made me not want to shoot anymore street footage around the city since it would likely get rejected

You cannot just upload a clip like this to artgrid. I singed up and theyre strict on footage now being a 'story' ie a narrative, random clips are not allowed. Somethinf doesnt add up about this Matt.

@@whoismatt I live in a unique place (Spain), which has everything from scenery used as desert in spaghetti westerns, to the Pyrenees (which remind me of my hometown in NW Montana), to caribbean-looking beaches (whether the Balearic Islands or even Galicia). I film short videos about the Spanish civil war and run all around Spain on my Triumph with my drone and Lumix S5MIIX. I had never thought about making stock footage, but I really think that it's a quite unique place for selling footage (castles, roman aqueducts, bunkers, old trenches, large cities, small cities, abandoned cities--Belchite). I should give it a try. There also probably isn't much Madrid-related content out there for when there are important events here. So parlaying upcoming events (say Champions League finals, World Fairs, F1 races, Madrid Open, any World Cup or Olympics) in the runups to those events could get you some significant boost. I do it for the love, but I wouldn't mind doing it for the love AND cash.
