To point out, the actor in the Flukeman costume was Darin Morgan, brother to the main writer as well as writer for 4 more amazing X-Files episodes himself

Hollow Knight (great indie game) has a huge reference to this in the form of an enemy found in the sewers of the main city. Wormlike creatures that on death split in half only for both halves to reanimate as separate beasts. Lovely.

"Dimitri! Flush the tanks! Flush the tanks....." Aw this one is one if not the best X-files episode ever. And it ends with the classic melancholic-mysterious ending with the agents sitting on a park bench and wondering what`s out there....

I also love all the subtle hints, nods, and Easter eggs after this episode aired throughout the series. In later seasons you actually see updates and apparent sightings of the Flukeman in various newspaper headlines at newspaper stands, clippings in Mulder's office, Scully mentioning it a few times, etc etc etc. Some of them are very hard to spot there literally blinking you'll miss it Easter eggs. It's fun to go back and look for all of them.

This was my favorite episode of the X-Files, so creepy and memorable! I remember when I was in the Army watching a contractor cleaning out the port-a-Johns at my base in Afghanistan and I said the one of my friends “that guy better watch out for the fluke man” and he started laughing because he got the reference!

This was the very first episode I saw! My brother was a fan since the show started, and he said they don’t normally do ‘guys-in-rubber-monster-suits’ stuff. But I was still very impressed!

Amazing videos, almost daily uploads, entertaining, no one can say this is not the best channel in youtube.

It's not just the effects that make this episode creepy as hell. It's the care they took to build the tension that made this and numerous other X-Files so great.

Being born in 89', the show airing September 10th 1993 when I was 4, but having their first case in universe take place March 7th 1992, which was actually my 3rd birthday!!! Has always made the show have a special place in my heart and it was my Father's favorite show... It was sad that he didn't get to see the show return after 14yrs in 2016... He passed away in 2013. It would have been so awesome and amazing to sit down and watch The X-Files with my Dad again, after all those years, but I know he was there with me watching it. Having so many great memories since I was 4 years old and I watched the first episode with him after my mother went to bed. He came and woke me up and asked me if I wanted to watch an alien/monster show. The first episode terrified the shit out of me but I loved the show especially after noticing that their first case took place on my 3rd birthday, ever since then I was absolutely hooked on the show. I remember trying to talk to some of my friends in 1st-3rd grade about The X-Files and they had no idea what I was talking about or some of them did but their parents wouldn't let them watch that show. I would sit there chuckle and tell them the scary stories about the episodes LOL. Actually getting in trouble a few times from parents complaints that I was telling their children about an adult TV show that my parents let me watch LOL my Father and my Mother got a good kick out of that. It definitely became our family weekly tradition to watch The X-Files, just like we used to watch Seinfeld every week LOL. Man I miss the 90s, really was a great decade to grow up in...

I'll never forget watching this episode, The Host... Season 2 episode 2 the beginning of probably my favorite season of The X-Files, which is debatable for me but the season definitely contains many of my favorite episodes of the entire series... That face, the images of the flatworms being puked up by the sewage worker and pulled out of the dead body by Scully we're all awesome and horrifying at the same time. Something I'll never forget watching it for the first time with my Dad and Mom when it first aired, I was 5, watching The X-Files every week was our little family TV time together along with Seinfeld... This was one of the first ones that actually scared me LOL but I loved it, I love this show. I also love that there is finally a TV channel that is dedicated to showing X-Files reruns now after all these years, every weekend, go figure it ends up being BBC America!!! Which there's nothing wrong with that it's actually Fuckin awesome. It just took long enough for a TV channel to start showing X-Files reruns. You figure it would be one of the FX or Fox Affiliated channels but NOPE LOL.

This was one of those episodes that I'll think about from time to time because of how good it was but also how fucked up it was.

When i was little my mom would watch X-Files. The theme song scared me every time it would come on late at night when i would be going to bed. But nothing scared me more than this episode. I dubbed it the "suck monster" when i was a child. After first seeing this episode I couldn't go to the bathroom by myself for years in fear of something coming up through the pipes, and port-o-potties still make me uneasy.

I always watched this with my dad when I was little and this episode scared the shit outta me.

I didn't know it used to be a guy. I thought it was just a freak mutation that supposedly was just coincidentally human-shaped. That just makes it creepier. When I think of 'the scariest X files episodes', I think of this thing, and the guy who ate livers and was effectively immortal because every cell in his body was cancerous, but in a weirdly stable way that let him regenerate lost limbs including his own head. Both of those episodes scared the bejeezus outta me.

This is the episode that still after all these year gave me a fear of using the toilet without the lights on

One of my favorite stories from X-Files to bad they didn't do a follow up in later seasons fluke man was only mentioned in one episode in a new paper that was it.
