I just wanna say Julia Garner plays Ruth so goddamn well. She's perfect for the role and I'm really glad the cast sounds like they enjoy the shoot!

The Georgia film community is amazing, you see the peace on a lot of shows. Like TWD for example. More states should follow that lead, there is money to be made for those that know how to make it.

I was born in Marietta GA. love Lake Allatoona and Lanier. It is cool watching this show and seeing familiar places. All of these places they film I been too. GA has become a hot spot for the filming industry.

Despite some of the jealous whining I'm hearing, the reality is that Georgia has worked very hard to become what it is today, a film and television production powerhouse. Just a few of the shows and movies shot here. Stranger Things, the Walking Dead, the Vampire Diaries, Legacies, the Resident, Baby Driver, The new Vacation, Game Night, Christmas Office Party, Identity Thief, Goosebumps, Magic Mike XXL, Fear Street, The Haunting of Hill House, Godzilla-King of the Monsters, The House with a Clock in it's walls, First Man, MacGyver, The Originals, the Good Girls, Ride Along, Taken 3, Fast 7, The Hunger Games, Zombieland, Sully, (Marvel practically lives here.)Infinity War, Endgame, Antman 1 and 2, Black Panther and the upcoming Black Panther Wacanda forever, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and 3, Suicide Squad 2, Spiderman-No way home, Venom, Avengers-Loki, the Falcon and the Winter soldier, Captain America-Civil War, parts of Wanda Vision, Doom Patrol, Cobra Kai, Stargirl, the Darkest Minds, Sharp Objects, Insatiable, Dynasty, Pitch Perfect 3, Jumanji welcome to the jungle, Devious Maids, the Fifth Wave, Alvin and the Chipmunks road chips, HBO's the Watchmen and Lovecraft Country, Fox's Sleepy Hollow and Constantine and the list goes on forever. We've got studios that are in construction and are booked 2 years in advance. The point is, this is no coincidence, it's been building for 20 to 25 years.

From IL, been to the Ozarks several times and went to Army Basic Training in GA. The areas and climate are VERY similar!

I've lived in Georgia my entire life and I'm literally just seeing how much I drive past each and everyone of those locations when they were listed in this video I can't believe I didn't recognize that's Chateau Elan at 1:57. Lol

It's weird how Netflix is always pushing The Witcher in my face but never Ozark. I only watched it once a friend suggested it's completely awesome. No one has ever suggested The Witcher to me, yet Netflix desperately wants me to click on it and watch. Weird how Netflix tries to lure you into a show, stranger than KZfaq's clickbait videos from the same top tier club.

Idk how true this is but RLM has discussed that w/netflix's model it doesn't benefit them to cont. shows (nor, sinking xtra $ into em) after 2 or 3 seasons (unless they're "cultural hits" that will constantly draw in new subscriptions &reaching new ppl) Unless it's a Stranger Things, or OITNB, that ppl outside Netflix know about, they won't put in the same adverts, etc.🤷‍♀️ If u think about it, truly great shows - like Ozark - are 'truly great' _because_ it's not the typical, mindless slop the usu. masses go ape-shit over (Netflix is purely a numbers game, so they're casting the widest net). I'm guessing this show is likely just big enough to justify keeping it -but not enough to push it? I'm mostly talking outta my ass here, tho, so idfk.

The real Ozarks in Missouri is awesome. I'm glad they didn't film it here though, because it would have probably brought in a lot of real crime. We've got enough of that with the methamphetamine labs, and lately heroin has made its way to Springfield.

It’s ok I’m from norcross but everybody who lives in Georgia know to never visit lake Lanier due to it being curse and deaths and we can be friendly but most likely we just mind our business unless you live in the rich rich neighborhoods there always saying hi but you know after that you don’t really Interfere

Unless I missed it, there was no mention of Stone Mountain Park. That played a pivotal role because that's where the Missouri Belle Casino was located. A bit of season 2 was filmed there also. The casino boat is the retired Henry Grady tour boat and the casino building is the Waterfront Building the tour boats used to depart from.

This video was from 2018. They only had filmed one season of Ozark when this was made. Hence all of the clips are from Season 1.

You are right! Stone Mountain Lake goes about 2/3 of the way around Stone Mountain. But I didn't know about the Henry Grady. That's really cool. Any ties to Grady Hospital, I wonder?

I love Atlanta. I’ve been there twice on a business trip. So didn’t really get to have as much fun like I would have wanted, but maybe next time when I visit.

The show is top notch. The cast outstanding. But the best of the best is Laura Linney. She is simply amazing in this. A must watch. Can't WAIT for season 4

Yeah but at the end as always it all comes to $$$. The state of Georgia offers a 20% refund on the cost of production, its very difficult to say no and shoot somewhere else, lets say Missouri.

Tax breaks in Georgia. They shot location footage at The Lake of the Ozarks. There is also drone footage of The Lake of the Ozarks water tower. "Lake of the Ozarks is featured in the series, At the very beginning of season one Marty relocates his family to Osage Beach, Missouri on Lake of the Ozarks. While the show uses some shots of the actual lake, the vast majority of Ozark is filmed in Atlanta. Ozark's location was inspired by Missouri's Alhonna Resort. I grew up near Lake Lanier. There were rumors that the lake had catfish almost as large as a human. Like the Loch ness monster, no one ever saw them.

Cast and crew probably didn't even know that Lake Allatoona is right in the middle of a gold belt, and almost every creek emptying into the lake, especially in the Little River area and Woodstock, has gold in it for the panning.

This is one of the best if not the best series I've ever watched!! I mean I thought Breaking Bad was a nail biter ..whoa!! I actually had anxiety while watching it a few times I had to take a break..(not too long tho 😂) Every actor selected did outstanding!! I've always love Jason Bateman's acting..he never misses a beat as with laura linney..truly professional's at their craft!! ☺️

The tv lake looks nothing like the actual Lake of the Ozarks. The actual lake in Missouri is quite busy and choppy as a result. It is also full of homes/cottages/condos and is like a city on a lake. It would have been hard to film there anyway.

TWD is in Senioa. South of the airport. Stranger Things not sure exactly the homes but the mall is the Gwinnett Mall in Duluth. Only 1 store open so that's how they filmed so much there.

Even though Laura has been in some great shows especially on Masterpiece Theater, it’ll be hard not to see her as Wendy. She brings herself out in parts of Wendy.
