Most Non Army producers of videos about BTS fail to mention that the company Bighit was small, it WAS NOT big as you remarked, without clout, financially weak and basically outsiders in the Kpop industry which made BTS the underdogs. Their struggle in these conditions is what makes their story interesting. They took years, at least 2, to get recognised and reach some success.

Ok, now that he is a self proclaimed ARMY, someone needs to suggest to him one of those documentaries that will make him cry about all of the struggles that BTS had to go through to get to where they are now. This video was good, but he was right when he said it really only showed the good stuff. They fought and clawed their way to the top and deserve every bit of success they got. This kinda made it seem like it was all luck or that the dominoes just kinda fell into place for them. The fight they fought I believe is also a huge part of their success because ARMY fought with them too. They proved that you truly never walk alone.

BE was a pandemic album that the members produced and built entirely themselves. The Life Goes On video was directed by Jungkook! Strongly recommend it! Oh, and they built their own set to match the Grammy set since they couldn't fly to the ceremony during the pandemic

BTS = Bang Tan Sonyeondan. when i watch this i feel it's like fate, i don't even believe in Fate but it's like they were meant to meet and be 7 of them. it couldn't have been anyone else. When a member is missing, it feels empty, it feels something is missing (not when they do solo/duo projects but when they are all 6 and 1 is missing). it's crazy how far they went

20:05 yes the Japanese market is HUGE and very hard to break into if you're foreign from what I've learned. That's why you'll see almost every kpop group doing Japanese versions of songs to see if they can gain some recognition there. To the point where trainees/idols are taught Japanese so they'll be fluent which will make them even more marketable. If you check, some of BTS' biggest concerts are held in Japan. When you do well as an artist in the Japanese music market you know you've made it!

Heyy, just to clarify their last names are the first word of the generally three-syllable whole name. Kim is the last name of Namjoon, Seokjin and Taehyung, Park is Jimins last name, Jeon is JKs, Min is Suga's last name and Jung is J-hope's

I DEFINITELY want you to react to idol. many people dislike the music video for being 'over the top' and 'too much', but that was the point. in that song they were breaking the kpop stereotypes of being 'cringy' and 'extra' while also sticking it to haters. in the song they purposefully wear and do things haters told them they looked bad doing. so japan is the 2nd largest music market (aside from the U.S.) but in my opinion most kpop artists don't go for the U.S. market because of racial differences. I don't know if I could name another asian singer I hear on the radio regularly. Asia is where these artists can strive, so it makes sense to aim for the biggest market within reach.

Interestingly enough, a lot of people think their demographic are teens and at the time, yes, but as they’ve aged, so has their demographic. The majority of their current fans are in the 30s. The 2nd group after that is 20s. The teens are 3rd and people in their 40s follow. There’s a video by XCeleste that brings up their demographic of fans by age and gender.

There’s a lot of “why?” In the formation of bts Why would BH signed namjoon? Why would bang pd risk everything for a 16 yo? Why would jhope go to a lesser know company? Why would jungkook choose a lesser know company? Why would jin reject one company and say yes to the other? Why would jin get scouted coming out of a bus? There’s a lot of whys in every bts member story… like the possibilities are so low for some of these situations Maybe that’s how it was supposed to be 😊 The japanese matket is the second biggest market in the planet and the hardest one to crack into for foreigners. The best decision BH took was start with jpn promo since their debut. Now bts are BIG BIG in japan, they’ve always been good but after dynamite they exploded there Also, it’s not just about the demographics. What i really love about BTS albums is that it's kind of like chronicle of growth. At each phase of growth, the struggles change, we see the school boy, young high school love, we see the 'emo' persona too, and then we start to get into them as Youth, the struggles visibly change, they begin dealing with heavier topics such as mental health, perception of oneself, and then as you go on they also start deaing with existential crises, more mental health, loneliness, self worth, adult love. I love how, when you listen to the albums in order, and read the lyrics, you can track that change and progress for yourself. I think that's so cool

My first song I listened to of them was Dope back in 2015, and I was 15 at the time, and it’s so ironic that Namjoon said “Welcome! First time with BTS?” I faded out of them until the day DNA came out in 2017 and I’ve been invested ever since. I’m so incredibly proud of them. I was supposed to attend their Map Of The Soul Tour in Atlanta in 2020 but they haven’t announced the rescheduled dates yet 😭😭 I’m so glad you watched this video! I believe the reason why they released Japanese songs is because of how linked Japan itself is in the k-pop industry, and just how big the kpop market has been over there for so many years.

In 2016 they did 8 fan meet concerts in Japan for 70k concert goers. In that same year they did 3 fan meets for 47k concert goers, this is why it was important to do Japanese versions of their songs at the beginning of their career. Early on BTS realized that they would have to go outside Korea to get their music to be heard. So first they went to Japan then to S. America, to Brazil, Mexico and even to Chile. In that Red Bullet Tour they only went to 4 places in the US NY, Grand Praire(D/FW), Rosemont, LA. So here you can see that even though they were looking to market in the US they still didn't have the high volume of listens here in the US really where they were heard mostly was in Japan and S. America. OK ... You have to go and watch Film Out, Stay Gold, Make It Right w/Lauv, Boy with Love, On, Lights, J-Hope's Ego, Suga's Daechitwa, RM's Persona, Home, Fake Love.

You're definitely mistaken about what them "having a label" to back them up. Their label was literally almost bankrupt. They couldn't afford to promote them at all which is why they are so good at KZfaq and livestreaming etc. They only debuted because of a lucky chance.

The Korean music market before BTS made it big had a very clear hierarchy. “The big three”were the big three music labels (SM, JYP, YG) that basically controlled the kpop industry they had all of the connections and money to invest in training their trainees and to throw into their debut guaranteeing a level of success. After the big three there are mid teir labels Cube, Pledis, and Starship after them all the other labels are tiny and were lucky to get any success at all usually groups from these smaller labels would sometimes get lucky and go viral like EXID. big hit was a one of those smaller labels the fact that BTS dominates KPOP is anomaly enough let alone the internationally.

I'm so glad you got to see more about BTS. Watching this just made my heart swell since I've been an ARMY since 2016. Their success is really out of this world and yet they manage to remain humble and true to themselves and that just makes me so proud to support them. If you can, I recommend watching a video on their hardships because everyone needs to know that their success was Not handed to them at all. this documentary tells a story about their succes well, that's true, but the thing is that.. well, it seems to me that it kinda devalues it because there's nothing's said about any problems that they faced, making it look like something simple and accidental. like, yeah, it's still gives you this wow-effect, but it's not honest and fair enough.. the fact that nothing was said about how terribly disrespectfully k-pop industry treated them until like 2015-2016, tv shows' hosts basically humiliated them by sayng like VERY unpleasant thing right to their faces when half of them were still minors (so bighit made their own show "Run BTS" so they didn't have to attend all these programmes anymore), award ceremonies weren't even letting them to perform on their stages at first, but allowed groups from Big 3 (SM, JYP, YG) that debuted like 2 months ago to perform with 3 songs, gave them some space in halls near bathrooms instead of dressing rooms, where other idols with proper dressing rooms could see them rehearse, and i'm not even saying about how other groups' fans and even their companies treated them (sm particularly envied bts' succes, bc despite being looked down on by the industry, they still had fans and good sales, so sm and some other companies i think tried to buy bts from bighit but failed as Band PD believed in those boys. sm once bought a group that threatened sm's EXO's success and just did nothing with them, allowing exo to gain their popularity back. later the ceo of sm said that without them bts' success wouldn't even have happened, but the truth is that without them it would've come a lot earlier). and all this hate tripled when bts got their first daesang in 2016 - then they got a black ocean and huge anounts of hate. in the documentary they talked about this daesang and included some footage, however they didn't even show how members were shocked and started crying, how suga and rm talked about writing this album backstage, that it was mentally exhausting and they spent nights just talking and crying. 2015-2017 were really tough, you even couldn't say that you were an army back then without hearing sh!it about boys and armys (some other kpop stans are saying that we're overly dramatic and all kpop groups received hate, but bts were and are much more popular, so there're way more haters not only among general public that haven't even heard any of bts' songs other than dynamite, but also among other kpop stans). bts themselves know about these times, rm even mentioned it in their 2021 festa video. they definetely have been through a lot as a group and as individuals, but like they sing in ON - "can't hold me down 'cause you know i'm a fighter, bring the pain on" (or lyrics of their cyphers, mic drop and solo mixtapes that are written for haters ;) ). of course now they'e HUGE huge and it's interesting to look through their story of success, but you can't focus just on a good side because the story would be incomplete then, like namjoon said in an interview that came out literally today - "the reason why I talked about those times was that I wanted to pay off my debts to a lot of people. I am glad to see you are trying to get to know more about BTS. I just wanted to point out one thing; their start was not bad, but not as much as they expected. Producer Si-Hyuk Bang, a.k.a. Bang PD, was a famous song writer with numerous hit songs, so when he opened up his new company, Big Hit Entertainment, I think they expected more like a mega hit debut. One thing I like about BTS and their crew the most is that they didn't give up. I mean they couldn't get chances to get on tv, so what they did they do? They made their own TV channel on youtube, Bangtan TV. They make their own radio programs, dance practices, MV's, entertainment show programs etc. Moreover, they are continuously doing it up to this stage, because they know that their fans, who are also their subscribers of their various channels, are the people that made them who they are. I really highly appreciate their effort.

If you ever want to really see their progress than just the successes from debut to now, i highly recommend "The Rise of Bangtan" fan-made documentary series. It uses a lot of the behind the scene clips and i reaaaally love the editing and context clips in that series. There's 12 chapters out so far, but its extremely well done.

Recently, a couple of the guys, like V and Suga, have been mentioning that they see us as their friends. V wants us to be his best friends. Suga says we are theirs, and they are never letting us go. I honestly get a little scared of their potential for world domination. I’m along for the ride anyway.

I am new to BTS. I first saw them on the Jimmy Fallon show when they performed at Grand Central Station in NYC. I felt the same way. Why hadn't I heard of them before? They were the best I had ever seen. And I have never missed a day of watching BTS content since then.

That scene in the end, is the behind the scenes from Life Goes On MV, which JK was the director. BE was a very special album, each of the members had a part, on not just producing and writing, but managing, choosing the style for the album itself (colors, font style, etc), the MV, the photographs, every single part of BE had their "hands" on it. That's why I really love this album. And I can't to see you watching JK's CGF videos.
