Discovery, Picard and this misunderstanding 😉 I better rewatch Enterprise than any of these three

@@DMX-du9mn Do you boo. Enterprise in my opinion only got good when Manny Coto came on board for season 4. It started feeling like Star Trek again.

Enterprise was great and surpasses everything that has come afterwards. Strange New Worlds is great, but don't forget how these clowns have screwed up every single offering so far. It's only a matter of time.

Captain Pike had me at "hi". I love him. No question why in TOS Spock stole the enterprise so his friend could live in peace on Talos IV.

Anson mount is absolutely brilliant t as pike.

Second that. For me it's the best Star Trek since TNG. Tried to watch all the other Star Trek but couldn't get into it. Even the new discovery was hard to watch.

Dunno about Picard. Only saw season 1 for TNG nostalgia but it was kinda slow. Was season 2 any good?

@@jonfreeman9682 I don't want to spoil things for you in case you watch it but I was really disappointed, even more that I thought I'd be. I didn't like the first season either but the second was way worse. In particular because it kinda ruined several things from the previous shows for me but also because a lot of the story points were just stupid. Edit: Strange New Worlds on the other hand is awesome. I was so sceptical going into it because of Discovery and Picard but i was so pleasently surprised. The show is great and really captures the Star Trek-feeling but with a new and modern style.

@@jonfreeman9682 Picard season 2 was better than season 1 but it still wasn't great IMO. As Mad Noori says, some of the plot/story points were contrived and didn't help the overall story. It ticked a lot of boxes that you've seen in every other sci-fi time travel show. It's also fair to say that I don't have the nostalgia that many do for TNG. I'm a big ST fan but TNG never gelled with me, especially seasons 1-4, even though some episodes were great.

Picard season 3 is going to be HORRIBLE and they are already showing this with the little monologues on the teaser trailer. It's going to be badly written shit with hammy lines.

In Picard 3, khan is a woman and messes with the original crew bringing them all together to defeat her.

He needs to be more bold and charismatic, a little cocky too. Kirk's got lots of daring and charm. Paul Wesley's version of Kirk in SNW s1 seemed too bland to me. Kirk is very sharp, intelligent, cunning, but also a little larger than life. I hope Paul Wesley can hone in on the character, amp up his portrayal to get that magnetic quality Kirk has. I do like that h wasn't going for a Shatner impression. I grew up with TOS, so the original actors are those roles to me. But for a new actor to take on the role, yes, it needs to be a fresh interpretation instead of a copy. -- I liked Zach Quinto and Ethan Peck as Spock; Ethan Peck's version is growing on me. I liked Bruce Greenwood as Pike, but I think I like Anson Munt's Pike more, and they are both different than Jeffrey Hunter's version. -- I always wanted to see more of Male Barrett Roddenberry as Pike's Number One, but this means I want to see more of Number One here by Rebecca Romijn. -- And Celia Gooding is doing really well as Uhura while Jess Bush is doing well as Chapel. Babe (I can't recall his last name right now) is good as M'Benga, but too quiet, he needs to speak up a bit more. I like his version, it's growing on me. -- And I want more Hemmer somehow.

Soooo...Paul Wesley's made it clear he's not imitating Shatner's acting style because he feels it would be an insult to the work that Shatner did on the role. Why can't you accept someone else's interpretation of the character? I mean, you accept Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Ceilia Gooding, and the rest who have characters from TOS. WHY is Wesley's portrayal the only one that, nitpickers like you, can't accept....

@@PDohm123 I don't think anyone expects (or wants) an imitation of Shatner. But any interpretation of the Kirk character must, by definition, include the core characteristics -- confidence, humor, rebelliousness, and charisma. We haven't really seen those qualities (yet) in Wesley's portrayal.

I agree with this question... I'd prefer having Babs Olusanmokun (Dr M'Benga), Jess Bush (Nurse Chapel) and Bruce Horak (Hemmer) because they have been regular cast, and they left a much better impression than this Kirk, IMO...
