The new season of STRANGER THINGS is coming out, so naturally all of the questions surrounding Eleven, the kids, and the Demogorgon have resurfaced online. It’s a pretty popular theory that Eleven and the Demogorgon are related if not one and the same, but so far the evidence for this theory has been thin. After watching season 4, and spoilers here, Mat Pat is technically correct because Vecna/Number One was also tortured by Brenner, and since it’s a hive mind connecting everything in the upside down, Vecna/One could be controlling the demogorgon to attack Brenner

despite this theory being wrong, matpat DID get right the more subtle part about how the demogorgans (i.e the monsters of the upside down) are connected to someone from the experiments with the same skill set as eleven, so, in a sense, matpat predicted stranger things season 4's villain, VECNA

@@fbi-thatrobloxian761 That's true, but it doesn't really disprove the theory, does it? Eleven can still be a "mirror" of the monster, in a sense, and S2 solidifies that more than anything (she's able to get out of the Upside Down despite even Will and Barb not being able to do that)

Assuming it did (I can't remember clearly), then yeah, Will and Barb probably could've escaped, if they could figure out how. But a lot of the stuff Matt mentioned happening S1 is indeed strange, and El being a carbon copy of the monster would explain her power set. Then again, it wouldn't explain how Kali's powers are so vastly different, so maybe we'll never know. At the very least, I think El and the demogorgon could be related in a sense, even if they're not one and the same

rewatching this after finnishing season 4 - honestly the point of duality between the demogorgon heads could be a parallel for vecna and the mind flayer intead. Which would actually make a lot of sense! Especially the thing about them secretly wanting to destroy each other. That could be an epic revelation for season 5. If vecna's take on his 'colonization/overtaking' of the upside down is disproven.

Dude....this is crazy to watch after season 4. Cause matpat points out everything that connects eleven to the Demogorgon, and without realizing it, was connecting both the Demogorgon AND eleven to Vecna. Like...seriously that's nuts. Also when he mentioned that the Demogorgon in earlier concepts was supposed to cause people to "bleed from their nose and ears" when coming into contact with it. This detail ALONE showed just how much this series had been planned ahead. It's just insane.

coming back after season 4… and im surprised on how this isnt entirely off. considering the hivemind, the demogorgon by technicality would be vecna/one, making this theory pretty accurate. would like to see stranger things revisited either before volume 2 or season 5 :)

Don't knock Fireball my dude. I've seen some players do amazing things with the spell! Also lest we forget, the first editions of D&D actually were very hard and party killing was part of the game. Look up Gary Gygax, one of the co founders of D&D. Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will are playing AD&D (Advanced Rules) which would later become 2nd Edition so it makes sense that he would be harder on them actually.

It could be, but series 2 introduced an excellent alternate candidate for the Demogorgon's other head. I can't say much more without posting major spoilers, but those that have seen the entire season know the identity of the other candidate.

Wait, but in the real world.... Eleven is trying to save Will with the boys, but in the upside down, the Demogorgan is trying to kill Will. Now, you might be thinking now "MIRROR IMAGE'' opposites right? No, if The Demogorgan wants to kill Brenner like you said, then it has the same feelings as Eleven, but hatred of Will doesn't have logic in the package. Also, Joyce is not an enemy to Eleven, and Eleven wouldn't see her as one. Why does the Demogorgan go to Joyce's house and try to kill her?????? No hate MatPat still love your vids! I can't really put into words what I'm really thinking so it's a bit messy, but I think the Demogorgon goes to Joyce's house because of Will. Seeing as Will was in the shed, right behind the house, it would be natural for him to go back to his house and hide. Will could call through dimensions sometimes but not might be able to hear/be heard because it's across dimensions. As Joyce picks up the phone, she can make a link, the Demogorgon can return to our world and kill/take whatever is on the other side. Because it's like a wild animal, it doesn't really care about what else it actually kills. It just needs food.

That doesn't make sense seeing as it took Will in the first place and it attacks pretty much every living thing it comes across. The only reason Will survived was because he was able to hide. When Will was hiding in Castle Byers, the Demogorgon also destroyed it and almost caught him. Barb also had the opportunity to run away but was pretty slow getting out of the pool.

4:26 SPOILER ! he isn’t all wrong, I mean from season 4 we know that 001 (Henry/vecna) tried to get eleven to join him but she declined, and since then he has tried to get her by sending monsters from the upsidedown do curse their town and specially find eleven until vecna decides to do it himself in season 4. And in season 3, mindflayed-billy said he is building something FOR eleven. Like hopper said, it always wants her for some reason. Now we know the reason.

Turns out after season 4 a lot of it is actually correct. Just about 1 instead of 11. And also, 11 isn’t the demogorgon, but she did open the portal and she helped create Vecna.

To everyone saying MatPat is copying SuperCarlinBrothers: Firstly, it takes MatPat over a week to make a theory, so the fact that the SCB video came out only 2 days ago means it wouldn't even be possible for MatPat to copy off their theory. Secondly, these theories aren't even exactly the same. Just read the titles. Lastly, the reason that these theories happened to come out at pretty much the same time isn't just a coincidence. Considering season 2 is just about to premiere, it makes sense that they both made Stranger Things theories. They both are trying to guess what will happen before it happens. I've seen a lot of youtubers make Stranger Things themed videos. And why would MatPat need to copy off of someone else's theory so desperately anyway? The Film Theorists work really hard on these theories, so it probably makes them feel bad to see so many people saying they stole a theory when they (obviously) didn't.

I like how even with the inaccuracies, if you just factor Vecna in and the Demogorgon's connection to HIM rather than El, MatPat... isn't entirely wrong. After all, One would also have his minions specifically target Dr. Brenner.
