They actually stopped killing in the battle of Brooklyn Heights to give Washington a chance to surrender, as they considered such a slaughter without a chance to surrender dishonorable. Washington fled under the cover of a miraculous fog, which they also considered dishonorable.

@@corymackin8723 Yes the Gaytriot is the story of an African American, gay patriot with Bi-polar disorder, who hunts down British soldiers whilst having a rather large erection. There’s a scene where he nearly slaps a British (colonizer) soldier to death with it, while his sisters children (who are raised by grandma) watch in horror. While slapping the soldier with his dingus, he’s yelling and screaming, “hands up don’t shoot!” “Pigs in a blanket, fry em up like bacon!” “My body my choice!” And something about “equity.” Anyways.. it’s great movie about what really happened.

But Cowpens is the Gettysburg of the American Revolution and good they told that story finally, especially with fine actors like Mel Gibson, the late, great Tom Wilkinson (also in Valkyrie), brilliant voice actor Peter Woodward (as General O'Hara), and many others. Even when I first saw The Patriot in 2000, my initial thoughts were: not enough. In Colonel Tavington's first scene he orders the Martin home and barn to be burned down, the livestock killed, the horses stolen, the workers taken, Gabriel hanged and the wounded Continental soldiers killed. And that's before he shoots Thomas. Credit to Jason Isaacs, though. He made me feel like nothing short of every last one of British Soldiers being burned alive would be enough to atone for his actions.

@@orions221you’ve been Atun Shei or what? 😂I didn’t see it as propaganda just historical fiction about the Revolutionary War just like with Gods and Generals I didn’t see that movie as Lost Cause garbage just historical fiction on the Civil War which is actually based on a novel by Jeff Shaara
