Final Countdown was used with stall decks back then, Now if it's even played it's most likely with Mystic Mine, it was actually used by Jeff Leonard as a win condition for the devk

My man Rhyme really went Joey Tempest on us and resolved Final Countdown! Nice! I can count on one hand how many times I've seen that resolve! Like back in snail's pace Yugioh is was easier but then again it was also easier to bring out Jinzo or piercing monsters and just blast through the stall too.

FYI Final countdown did actually boost a top 8 in Regional - Santo Domingo Dominican Republic and a top 16 in YCS - Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

I think a dude in like 2012 won a YCS with a final countdown stall deck. It's also a tech card in some mystic mine decks because you can certainly stall easy 20 turns with a mystic mine deck but most people give up before you hit turn 20

I never played Final Countdown because we always ruled it wrong, thinking a turn was counting yours only. Like a Swords of Reveling Light count, so we thought it was just unusable.

Do Cybernetic and Ancients. There were no crazy support until a decade later. So there should be a decent amount of support for both machine decks from GX era

Final Countdown actually had tournament success, i believe when One Day of Peace was still unlimited. It was a painfully slow deck that basically just ran cards that prevented combat that got hit pretty hard in upcoming banlists not because of its success necessarily, but because it rewards a pretty degenerate playstyle lol
