I think set vs set could be fun, but you would probably need to add a rule to allow you to use some cards from previous sets(like 5-10) partially since you could end up in situations where an archtype is introduced in one set but the boss monster that really makes them work isn't added till a couple of sets later and partially to avoid situations where you don't have an out in your deck to a 1900 vanilla

What if you guys did set vs set, but each person can choose a previous set to supplement their deck with. 2 sets, which could lead to some interesting mixups.

Set vs Set allows for more shenanigans to unfold since y'all might not know what each others' sets have. Plus I did it with my homeboys like that for Pokemon battles using elite trainer boxers from different sets and it was always a blast!

I like the idea of set vs set, it's different than the other progression series and stuff. Also make sure generic needed cards like ritual spells and polymerization are available no matter which set you play so that those archetypes aren't completely ignored :)

I enjoy the variety of set versus set. it allows us to see so much more versatility and compare the sets to one another. it also means the series doesn't have to be as long.

I like the idea of set vs set because then it's more likely to see unique matchups. There's some sets like invasion of chaos where there really is only one good archetype and the only way to compete is a mirror match which can get boring.(seereax taking a game off chaos with dark scorpions is legendary btw) plus if there's ever a scenario where one set is just head and shoulders better than the other then you guys can do both at a time. Kinda a case by case basis thing though in general set vs set seems way more interesting

Yeah set vs set is tough because like the best card in rise of Destiny is Thestalos and Dekoichi. Flaming Eternity has Rescue Cat. A card so good they had to errata. So you would need to plan it out super well so it's not a blowout

well you guys could do the Set vs Set thing as general rule, but decide each episode individually if there is a difference in power between sets so that, if there is, then you make the old format of both building decks from the two sets.

I say each time you look if it seems like the 1 set is good enough then do 1 but if the two sets are good then can do it like that.
