But the point of the hybrid system wasn't just to be faster, or am I wrong?

I think the hybrid was to be seen as more environmentally friendly. Burning less fuel. But as far as i'm aware the hybrid will be gone for next year

@@konceptsketcher In rally stages it is only used for boost aka going faster. Also on some road sections between stages the hybrid has to be used to move the car (In sections with as many people as possible of course I am pretty sure). So aside from hybrid boost it's just a greenwashing or environmental friendliness gimmick. Another side effect of the hybrid has been that the crews have been able to use it to save the car when the combustion engine has issues.

@@kut52 yea I know that part and then Kalle was called into take his spot right? Like was Kalle going to be racing here if Ogier didn’t crash? Did he get called up to a faster car (Ogier’s)? I don’t follow this sport very closely, I know Kalle is good so I’m wondering why he was Ogier’s replacement instead of just racing for himself to begin with

@@gothops154 they're sharing the 3rd Toyota car for this season and both doing half a season this year for different reasons. Therefore Kalle was the first call up to replace Ogier naturally.

That's super-rally. Don't like it myself. Without it however - some rallies would end with 1/2 cars finishing it though, not the most entertaining TV

@kut52 super rally under strategy is shame. Tannak entered super rally again on Sunday knowing that he would sweep the road for the others as first car in the road. If that stupid point system was not in effect, would Hyundai brought him again on Sunday? Not a chance.

Kalle wanted to take it easier this year and concentrate on other things in his life that's why he is driving only half of the WRC rallies this year. So it was Kalle's own decision, not Toyota's.
