On-board Virgin Atlantic Little Red VS3021 from London Heathrow to Aberdeen on the FINAL day of operations of services to Scotland (26th September 2015).
Back in early 2015 Virgin announced unfortunately they was stopping domestic services to Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Aberdeen. I was very keen to try Little Red before the aircrafts were returned to Aer Lingus & thought it would be an amazing opportunity to fly on the last day of service.
It was a very sad day within Virgin cabin crew, with most of them going onto Virgin Long haul this was indeed some people's last day with the company. It was a fantastic flight up to Aberdeen, with friendly crew (wearing fancy dress, doing the conga & a group selfie with the passengers!)
I have filmed the entire experience so you guys can share the experience with me! I was very impressed with EI-EZV, lovely seats, interior & gave BA a run for their money!
Once boarded, we pushed back 10 minutes behind schedule, departing from 09R at London Heathrow on a beautifully sunny Saturday morning. After a very quick takeoff, we made a left turn, giving us a fantastic view of LHR, passing Milton Keynes & climbed up to our cruising altitude of 36,000 feet!
After several cabin shots, wing views and wandering around the plane, we passed Manchester & Edinburgh before starting our descent into Aberdeen. It was a very smooth approach, with calm winds & light clouds we landed 15 minutes early & made a quick taxi to the stand.
It was an absolute pleasure to fly Little Red - stay tuned for the return flight later this day on the last ever Aberdeen - London Heathrow sector! #avgeek
