This is the beginning of the last week of the infamous Shadow. And it starts of ominously! As Stevie sets up to begin testing, a major storm hits and swamps the pits. Fortunately, it gives him the chance to touch base with his daughter on Facetime
Cecil, GA - For most race fans, they rarely see the real person behind the warriors that traverses the two lane black top we call a drag strip. On October 9th the famed blown Mustang named The Shadow, driven by Stevie ‘Fast’ Jackson, took flight and ended upside down, on fire, in the opposite lane it started from utterly destroyed. As the car became airborne and crash was imminent, there was a collective gasp that stretched across the small tire drag radial world. That’s what thousands witnessed in person and viewed on the MotorManiaTV.com live feed during Sunday’s eliminations at Donald Long’s No Mercy 7.
For a few anxious moments after the crash, fans, viewers and spectators alike waited for Stevie to emerge from the burning wreckage. He was shaken, banged up, bruised...but, for the most part, OK. We all knew he’d have a fine case of racing rheumatoid the next morning, but at least he walked away under his own power. For most of us, anytime we witness in person or watch a recording of a bad accident online, we rarely get a glimpse into the driver and his or her reactions before, during and after the crash.
The week leading up to the day of the crash, videographer Jack Walworth’s team from Raw-3 Entertainment, followed Stevie on and off the track at South Georgia Motorsports Park as he and his team prepared for the race. With his behind the scenes look, Jack captured the persona we know as Stevie ‘Fast’ Jackson. Walworth’s work has to be one of the most genuine portrayals I have ever viewed of any racer. It is real, it is raw...it is Stevie ‘Fast’ Jackson. You are certain to be entertained. This 8 part webisode starts 7 days prior to accident. Enjoy as we roll out the episodes, 2 a day, for the next 4 days.
