Beat the game recently. After kicking Ultimecia's ass with one trillion Renzokukens, the finishing blow was randomly scored by an 800 damage hit by Angelo. Was kind of ridiculous actually.

I still say that Blasting Zone is way more awesome than Lionheart. "Yours is the sword that will pierce the heavens", indeed.

I always thought Quistis was a Sorceress. This girl could shoot laser beams out of her eyes, degenerate foes into nothing, summon Death, blast missiles from her palms, spit acid, blast a volley of bullets from her, erm, breasts? And utterly annihilate enemies with Shockwave Pulsar. Erm, actually, I think Quistis is something far MORE powerful than a Sorceress..

In the game's coding are two spells that were most likely intended as part of Selphie's Slot Limit Break. These are 'Percent', a gravity spell that reduces HP (I forgot how much though), and 'Catastrophe', a damaging spell stronger than Ultima or Apocalypse. Neither of them have any animations left in, so they just use the default 'Fire' animation.

Oh and Laguna can attach a rope to *nothing*. These supposed students, teachers and ex-military are all super beings!

Quitsis' limits where just basically the attacks from FF7's Enemy Skill materia with a few exceptions like Gatling Gun, Electrocute which in turn looked like Quazocolts attack

Kiros' limit break is the most underwhelming one. He does 6 hits and get's up in the enemy's face like if he's going to unleash something cool but instead just ends right there

OMG the high-level Limit Breaks were so fucking satisfying. lol This game made me feel so powerful as a kid. GOD, I still love these sound effects.

The sound effects are fantastic... Especially if you consider that it's all using the same small sound data (the PSX has 512kb of sound ram and most goes to music and reverb buffer and streaming is possible but unpractical), and the only things it can use are volume, panning, pitch, noise mode and pitch modulation mode.

You also missed a few more things, like the 4-hit, 6-hit, 7-hit, and 8-hit Renzokuken variation and the boss-specific Renzokukens (like the one against Omega Weapon, Bahamut, etc.), and Seifer's special Limit Break that he used against Squall during the solo fight against him, but you did a great job with this.

Zell should have been in a Street Fighter vs X game or something. His Finishers are just to awesome for this game.

The reason I like NES bionic commando or Top Secret better is because of Laguna limit break. I never knew military soldier actually uses grappling hook in battle. It's really awesome.

just looking at the first half, i'm reminded of watching my brother play this 12 years ago haha the battles seem so much more epic then current final fantasies imo. a lot more hype for a lot more skills it seems but i'm mostly in comparison to final fantasy 13 which is frowned upon :P wish they'd do something like this again...
