Final Fantasy 9 - The Battle At The Iifa Tree

The team head back to the lifa Tree to wait for Kuja who doesn't dissapoint. He arrives and tells the team how he is not responsible for Queen Brahne's actions he just gave her the tools she needed and that the desire was all hers. Brahne arrives and orders the black mages to fire their spells at Kuja who responds by summoning mistodons. Brahne then summons the eidolon Bahamut to attack Kuja, despite drawing blood Bahamut does not defeat him. Kuja calls the airship Invincible to possess Bahamut whu turns on Brahne and destroys the Alexandrian fleet and mortally wounding the queen before departing next to Kuja who flys off smiling. The man took a direct hit from one of the most powerful of the most powerful beings in Final Fantasy, got a small cut, was like “interesting”, and then proceeded to use the very being in question for mass distruction while looking like he was enjoying every second of it. Kuja is. FREAKING horrifying.

Love Kuja's monologs, was it "Ah, Bahamut you are truly perfect, you even hurt me....a little"? I think so :P

It's actually named Iifa Tree, not Lifa Tree

The cutscenes made the summons so epic in this game. Too bad in battle they were kinda lackluster. Dagger's Trance made hers useful, and Eiko's at least had utility, but by the time you get them the damage they do doesn't match the MP cost, especially when you have a stretch of 3 Magic characters and one Physical character :S

@Septimuspain Kuja is an angel of death, sent to destroy the cycle of life on gaia. So was Zidane, but Kuja dropped him on Gaia. Kuja has a tail too, but he conseals it. Eventually, he kills their creator Garland and tries to destroy the entire universe.

This battle was like a chess game. And I never knew the Queen could look so weak!

Everyone afraid of Sephiroth yet we have Kuja who laughs after taking a direct hit from Bahamut and only get's a slight cut then later on destroys Terra because he could.

I love how the queen understands how Kuja could be dangerous by bringing a fleet, black mages and bahamut to kill only a man but unfortunately for her he kept a way to take back eidolons that he lent her.
