I want to play and try it out, I first learned about FF6 and Terra from her in The Disseia games. And I always wanted to see her backstory and learn about her game. But it’s just I’m not a fan of the graphics...now if they remade FF6 or gave us a Remaster version, of the game weres the graphics and Terra looked as good as she did in Dissdia then, I definitely try it out. Also Kefka too, he was a love and hate character for me in Dissdia, so I wanted to see more of him in FF6. But I just can’t get into with optimal game looking the way it does. I’m sure for its time, it looked amazing, but nowadays...hopefully they do a remake of the game.

Evan XXIII crazy, I think the SNES version is by far the best version.

The steam version is best if you mod it properly to make it not suck. Still has new espers and sidequests from the GBA version. Its actually quite hard to get all the right mods, though. Took me a few hours on google to get everything good and working.

The Steam version is based on the GBA version. The GBA version is pretty much a direct port except for a few new features. There are four new Espers: Leviathan, Gilgamesh, Gigantuar, and Diablos. A new dungeon called Dragon's Den and a place called Soul Shrine where you can fight monsters endlessly. There are three new spells: Flood, Valor, and Gravija. There's a beastiary and music screen. The script has been changed to be more true to the Japanese version.

All final fantasy games 1 through X/X-2 are amazing games, all really well written stories and characters/character development are always amazing and memorable, and XV seems pretty cool too, my bro just bought it on sale and he's actually really enjoying it. V and VI are my most neglected final fantasy games though and it seems like I'm missing out big time lol.

Anthology version is the worst version of FF6, with all the load times and degraded audio. If you want to get FF6 alone, get the Android/iOS or the GBA version. But if you're looking for the best value for money, you can't go wrong with the Anthology version, because it comes with FF5, another superb game, and if you're lucky you can get it for around $10 online (if you're American). Just don't get FF6 PS1 itself.

Do not get the Android/iOS version for both V and VI. They look garbage despite the polished graphics.

It's not.

They have their pros and cons. The GBA version is generally 'better' for having the highest quality translation and all the new content. But the audio is watered down and the colors have that gross brighter tint. So the SNES version is better in that regard. The PSX version doesn't have anything better; it's a poorly emulated port.

I think FF 4-6 is awesome. I recommend all of them. FF6 is definitely the best of the trio. You should also check out Chrono Trigger if you haven't already. Chrono Trigger and FF6 are the best RPGs on the SNES. Tales of Phantasia is the third best.

Totally worth, I'm playing this again right now. This is my "old RPG" favorite list: 1.- Chrono Trigger -> Chrono Cross (both) 2.- FF VI 3.- Terranigma 3.- FF VII 4.- Golden Sun -> Golden Sun 2 5.- Secret of Mana

It really IS a good story that makes it one of snes' top 10 best rpg games. But there are many others you should check out like lufia 2 on snes. Watch 16-bit gems on that game and see his review. :)

In my opinion/experience, (#takeitwithagrainofsalt), 4 is a definite contender with 6 in music and storytelling. 5 is also good if you like character/class building (which I don’t personally, as I get too distracted and confused easily).

Final Fantasy 6 seems better to a lot of people and I can see why but Final Fantasy 7 will always be my favorite one.

***** It will always be my favorite FF game, 7 I mean cuz' it was my first, the characters were lovable, the music, the world, stories, etc. But FF6 seems like a better story with better plots, even though some are silly but hey! It's way more serious too! Terra has more emotions and backstory than Cloud does. Despite him being chosen for Smash cuz' of his popularity and blah blah this backstory and character, Terra had bigger tragic times with murdering hundreds of soldiers at the mercy of a very bad guy who enjoys killing as much as The Joker from Batman. In fact, he IS the Joker. Kefka is a Jester so naturally, yeah? Plus, even though Sephiroth has a big backstory and has a reason to be a villain, it's sympathetic. Kefka is pure villainy cuz' he likes it. That's enough to hate him and thus makes him a true villain more than Sephiroth. FF6 seems like the best FF game but still, FF7 will be my favorite. But just the same, I fell in love with FF6 after I played it. I want people to know this game too. I wanted Terra to be the first Square character in Smash. That's why I have mixed feelings of Cloud being selected.
