Want to know what "love" is? This is what love is. Tifa stayed by Cloud's side when it looked like he was a goner, then pieced him back together when he really was a goner. If this isn't a compelling case for the strength and power of love, then love doesn't exist.

Tifa: “You’ve saved me before, now it’s my turn.”

This is very deep material and Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. The doctor explains and the player can tell that being exposed to mako produces an altered state of consciousness that can become complete dissociation at a long enough exposure (Cloud is clearly not there, mumbling nonsense). The mako energy is psychoactive, and this whole sequence is basically Tifa helping Cloud through an extremely intense mental breakdown and catharsis. All of these constructed memories and missing pieces of his past in his subconscious mind are being brought to the surface because of the powerful psychoactive effect of the mako energy. Tifa has an ego-death experience of her own before finding Cloud, then she helps him through his. The music in this sequence perfectly conveys Cloud's anxiety about exploring his past and his fear of going over the edge. It perfectly conveys the fear of losing one's sanity during such an identity crisis. This is hands-down and by far the single strongest bonding experience between Cloud and Tifa. It's parts like this in the game that really make the characters come to life in our minds.

This for me is the single most intimate part of the game, even more than Highwind scene. It's a bonding experience between Cloud and Tifa unlike any opther, on soul level. But imo it's always so underrated. People always talk dates, affection levels, night under Highwind while arguing about relationships but I think THIS scene is the main argument.

I felt so bad for the tiny Cloud, when the village people helped Tifa but blamed him and he was left injured and all alone. I literally wanna go hug him. And still he didn't take it out on Tifa. He was such a precious little boy T_T

Really hate how nomura threw this part out of the window, Cloud spent a good portion of his life trying to get Tifa to notice him, then in Advent its like he doesnt cares about her and its just her who's hung on him

I really hope this part will be made justice in the part 3 of the remake. To me, this is the best scene of the game, and maybe of the entire Final Fantasy franchise, because it tells you an important thing: the real, true love to someone got much more power than any cataclysm. Tifa saved Cloud, as much as Cloud saved her.

To this day, IMO, this is the greatest plot unraveling in the history of gaming.

I absolutely can't wait for this scene in the remake. It's so memorable and beautiful that Tifa was able to fix Cloud's mind. When Cloud and Tifa reunites, the iconic prelude would be played in the background. It's signifies the moment they come back together again after 7 years of separation.

The potential for this sequence to be the most visually stunning scene of ff7 remake trilogy is insane 😭

Those screams and the sounds when Tifa is stuck in the black void... haunting...

Part 3 better deliver on this in the remakes. This was the cliamx of the game when Tifa pieces Cloud together and the real Cloud comes finally back.

This was the greatest moment in gaming for me.

Man this music is so beautifully haunting. I can't believe this game sometimes. That a group of geniuses fathomed this masterpiece out of imagination.

If the remake doesn't include "On the Other Side of the Mountain" I will be pissed.

This scene in the game was so amazing the setup, the writing their subconscious dream state to bring back their true psychology FF7 was the game about truly finding yourself and building on your weaknesses from rock bottom. Such an inspirational movie video game and the score. Right on the money.

Can't wait to see what this part will be like in the REMAKE!😁
