This was the best quality I could get using the Steam PC port at 1080p with the highest bitrate possible!
I also uploaded it at full size without compression!
Final Fantasy VIII is a weird one. There are so many Actually Pre-Rendered scenes with character overlays. There are also plenty of pointless Pre-Renders in this game. But those are also included in this video. Enjoy!

So much Nostalgia.... Now its 20 Years ago since i played this Game the first time... and i play this every few years to remember on this masterpiece! The only Game that emotionaly carved in my Heart..

Amazing that the they show us the end in the first clip when Rinoa uses her power to get to Squall. This has evident by the feather that goes up and the one at the end when Squall fails to meet her. The whole scene with the dark clouds is the same. She goes to him and finds him at the battle unconscious after defeating Ultimecia. Then when she cries she returns them to present times and the clouds dispels.

@@philithegamer8265 It depends- I think the cutscenes still look very good, even by today's standards. However, everything else in the game aged terribly. The character models aged so badly.

The soundtrack sounds like a live concert version rather than the original on the parade cutscenes.

It's from the album 'Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec', produced by Nobuo Uematsu himself. It's a real orchestra and choir. It's really good! I've owned it for many years. The orchestrated versions of Balamb Garden and Blue Fields are very nice. Fisherman's Horizon is also very good.

This is the only version I can find where someone didn’t lay music over top of all the cutscenes. It defeats the friggin purpose, even if it is just the wrong FF8 music.

doesn't get the ratings that ff7 does but the world building and art direction in this game are phenomenal.

When two gardens fought and you're in and out of the cut scenes defending students and all was pretty badass for the time you gotta admit. Coming from ff7 this game was to say the least...different but there was definitely some adrenaline making moments.

Too bad not actually 1080p You'd think Square got the source files and could rerender all scenes in actual 1080 or 4k quality.

Sadly, do to budget and time constraints, there were no backups made of the master files and they were lost a few years later. Bad planning, just like with Reboot. No master files left, not even the backups., and the original renders had the tech been available, woul have been at 8k.

When I first played this game I was kid and due to not being a native speaker of neither Japanese nor English, I literally don't understand any of plot or story and just played game as gamer with common sense about jRPG. Many of scene has stunning visuality but also very confusing and wierd about event, like, what the hell is going on there? That lunar throw-up scens was top of it and now I'm seeing this it's kinda curious what was the whole plot of this game

The original PC release had much better quality videos. The Steam release uses the lower quality PS1 FMVs.
