Rua, I’ve watched your videos for years now, and I wanted to leave a comment to say how much I appreciate your delivery style and FFXI knowledge! Your videos are simply the best!

I want to thank Lepton for entrusting me with his character to make this video. He's had the character since 2004 so this really was an incredible act of faith. If/when he comes back he's coming back to a strong character with an incredibly powerful and unique weapon. Oh right, this is the Enmity build I have been using. Back when NIN was widely known as a tank SE talked about how they didn’t intend for us to tank via shadows, now this.

Holy Christ...Its this kind of thing that brings me back. Im installing tonight. Not saying Im going to get this weapon...but its inspiring.

It makes me happy that someone did what I was thinking of doing if I won 😂 loan character to Logical so he could try out yagyu however you would have been my number 2 to try it out.

Nice video. I don't believe those weapons will ever be released outside of bonanza tho. I think there was some interview with devs saying that those weapons were specifically created for Bonanza. I don't think SE even realize this weapon has such strong implication at NIN Enmity generation. I bet they have no idea about it. Edit: This is from interview with devs "The new unique rank 1 prizes are attractive. Matsui: This cost us dev resources, so hopefully they are attractive. We think it's more likely to get rank 1 this time around too. Fujito: We thought they can't be made too good as they're only receivable via 'chance'. But, still, we also introduced other content in the past that gives comparable items (Estuceon for Kupo Shield). Matsui: We made equipment that doesn't make it so the job cannot be played without it, just gives a boost." "Just give a boost" "can't be made too good" I think it clearly shows they don't know true potency of this katana and implication of hate generation with 6 Utsusemi targets. It also say they don't plan to let us get those weapons other way. If anything they will make events "that gives comparable items".

I won rank 1 on my alt and chose this katana but have yet to use it. I wanted it to use on my main that has fully decked out nin but seems I need to gear my alt now to play around with it. Thanks for the video.

Ninja is just *the* quintessential job of FFXI. I can't think of any other job that's had so much strategic impact on the game through the years. Every time it gets something new, the entire game shifts around it. It's fascinating, and I love it.

Ninja should have a new JA that allows the next shadow spell to spread to party members, think of the Yagyu and the Yagrush for NIN, same as how WHM needs to use Divine Seal for AoE ~na spells.

That would be absolutely amazing if such was a Reward for completion of the newest Missions. I had no interest in this wpn. 1 ) Cannot obtain - 2 ) Know nothing about it - 3 ) Never gonna get it If I could obtain such I would definitely go for it
