FFXIV is so amazing. Can't wait for you to continue the story!!! I originally mained Dragoon in FFXIV to spite the way FFXI treated the job. I still keep it max leveled and can kinda play it but don't know the optium rotations anymore. Red Mage 4Life :D but Summoner, Machinist, and Gunbreaker are fun to play too.

Dragoon in FFXIV is soooooo much fun, and the job lore (especially how the events of Heavensward develop it) is fantastic for shameless dragon thralls like me. 😁

Oh if you’re enjoying Heavensward you’re absolutely gonna cry when you get to shadowbringers. But also I hope you’re enjoying dragoon, it’s a wonderful class that’s meatier than the regular DPS (emergency tank capabilities HO!) with great single target destruction. Even at 80 it’s aoe potential exists but it’s not fantastic (still a wonderful class)

The job gear here is also called artifact/AF gear but I think most people just call it job gear. Heavensward is fun and a lot of stuff happens. If you haven't done so already I recommend you do the Binding Coil of Bahamut raid series before you get to the end of Heavensward meaning the start of the level 60 content. You'll need to do it unsynced most likely but it's a good raid series and provides some context to something in later in the expansion and the game as a whole.

So, subbed to you cause I love seeing excitement in anyone's eyes for FFXIV, also....if you play as a dragoon a certain NPC will have different dialogue with you as a dragoon that's *chef kiss*

Dragoon has less positional requirements than Monk, but there are a few there. I honestly love it; it's my main melee job

You don't really get positional attacks for a long time, but they become really important, especially in the 60-70 range.

Watching your reactions to these videos is so wholesome. I mained a dragoon all the way through every expansion. Recently changed to ninja and now currently levelling a warrior. You'll enjoy heavensward. The story is about to get soooo good

Another awesome video! That scene with the castle in the clouds and all of the floating Rick's really reminds me of Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast. I need to break mine out and play it again, lol. Then again, they re-released it as Legends of Skies of Arcadia with stuff they cut out in the original...I might break out my GameCube to play that version, lol.

Oh man I don't feel so bad about not even finishing the original game now. I've played the game since the beta pre release but have stopped for huge chunks of time and just never gotten round to finishing even a small part of it.

MNK is heavy with the positionals... DRG not so much, there are couple but its mostly you can sit in the back to dps.

I was monk in ARR and after the trailer I switch to dragoon, I briefer the dragoon rotation you it's strategic I loved it :')

If you really want to play as Dragoon during Heavensward, you absolutely should, you'll get special dialogue throughout the cutscenes for it :D

I still call all the 14 characters by the 11 names. I just started playing a few weeks ago, pretty much addicted at this point

Honestly, you need to play the expansion class. I played Dark Knight for Shadowbringers and I felt more immersed for it.

Drg in 3.0 was more difficult and has since been streamlined. In 4.0 was a tad clunky, but was fixed.

I wonder where you heared that DRG is OP. SAM is always top-dps because it only has dps, same goes for BLM. Both have no utility. The DRG Litany-buff is the only thing that could be seen as "too strong" imo.

Did you finish ARR and the quests leading to Heavensward because this trailer his differently if you did and I noticed you barely reacted when you saw Nanamo and Raubaun

I personally feel like there are TOO MANY BLOODY DRAGOONS running around FFXIV but I guess the aesthetic is very appealing for many players as it is a super popular job. Having leveled all the combat jobs in the game to max level I would say that Dragoon is fairly easy to play as it only has a few positional moves and it has a very static rotation. Monk is definitely the hardest melee job in the game to play as it requires tons of movement but is balanced by Samurai which is easier to play IMO and shares the same gear. The greatest single thing about this game to me is that you can play all the jobs on your one character so if you're curious about a job then you need only start the class/job quests and then get to leveling. For the lower level jobs, I used to always take them into POTD and just go from floor 1-50 to get a feel for the future abilities I'd be getting and then toss in things like roulettes. The jobs that start as classes are the absolute hardest because you've got to bring them up from lvl 1 but once you've beaten the game it's pretty easy to earn levels of alt jobs by simply running daily roulettes with them on the side while you do other content which I how I got all the jobs up to level 80 pretty casually.

I’m really glad I forgot what was in this trailer since I watched them all before playing FF14. Jesus Christ, can’t believe the main story spoiler they just casually include in this one- makes me like it significantly less tbh.

I find myself unable to be really excited about dragoon for an odd reason - in cutscenes and lore they are crazy awesome capable of amazing feats but in every game where they are playable they feel so ... uninspired in comparison to that. I think the Final Fantasy series really needs a spinoff that just focuses on playing as a dragoon who can actually let the player experience the Jump playstyle properly.

oh boy. get ready for the shb trailer... and the ew trailer. dragoon is technically the weakest melee iirc. but no job is bad at all. monk is so insanely positional heavy until you get riddle of earth though that any other melee will feel like it basically doesn't have them.
