How the word is passed is so good. Definitely recommend 🎉 the cloth bound classics are so pretty

So many have recommended that one- I have two already picked out for Feb but honestly if I end up with an extra spot that’s the most likely to be added! I am literally obsessed with my cloth bound classics- I am shocked I’m not broke buying them all at once- ha!

Love Metaxas' writing! Bonhoeffer was fantastic, as is Amazing Grace!

Yes! I have only read Bonhoeffer but I also really want his book Is Atheism Dead. Have you read that one?

What a fun and fantastic haul! I haven’t read any of those, but a lot of them I have heard of and have wanted to read. I like to collect the Penguin Drop Caps classic editions too just for the pretty covers :-) but I do plan on reading them eventually! Hope you have a wonderful start to your new year and I hope some of these new books end up being all-time favorites for you. :-)

Isn’t it fun getting new books? And it’s a bonus when they are pretty!

What a lovely copy of Utopia! Yes, Thomas More invented the word (although I guess the concept goes back earlier). In Greek, the U sound in Utopia can mean either "good" or "no", so Utopia is a good place and a no-place.

Your theatre background bodes well for your appreciating If We Were Villains. 😁 Anna Karenina on your honeymoon! 😂😂😂

Will see what I think about Villians- I know Susan loved it- I am having a good reading month so far- about to edit my full tbr videos. And I was gifted a generous book gift card for Christmas so the year of reading is wide open for me ❤️

@@BandysBooks I mean I can appreciate it on one level but it was just too much brain work for me- ha!

I enjoyed Anna Karenina, the book was a Constance Garnet translation, a modern library edition in school years ago. I need to do a reread soon. Your edition looks gorgeous 😊.
