I think it's more of a mic problem than a vocal problem, Roada and Aria are really good vocals, but it's kinda meh here, I think the mics are kind of crappy

YG FAM ONE Yeah, the audio quality during the whole episode was quite low. I hope iQIYI will repost an edited version with better audio. It’s definitely a technical issue: I think something is wrong with the mics and the audio mixing.

I also just want to point out that Anqi and Esther have very similar parts, but you can clearly see how much better Anqi delivers the lines. Its not just pitch and vocal skill, theres also an element of stage presence and confidence that Esther was clearly lacking... Just my opinion... no hate!

damn the audio is really terrible. couldn't enjoy the girls' vocals. i hope they'll fix it soon. edit - i do prefer to hear them sing live than listen to pre-recorded vocals. the audio is messed up in this video (couldn't even hear some trainees) and i believe the performance sounded better in real life/fancam. thus why i said the audio is bad and i'm sure they'll fix it after the live

Kiki Xu really slayed it🔥 Very professional, and stable. She's really on fire, and the center part really suits to her. This last performance of her is a bomb! She can't be par up with another trainees speaking of dancing skill, insane clarity, power on point, very sharp and precise, also don't forget to mention her stable vocal while being that great on stage. Just because the same equipment was used doesn’t mean it was not altered when it was group 2’s turn. It is very easy for the backstage to tweak audio volumes. To me at least, I hear that there is an imbalance between the mic and music volume for group 1 because their breathing in between singing was way too evident and hearable compared to group 2. Of course, the girls were not perfect, but their music and mic definitely in my opinion made it sound even worse then how they actually did. Also there are many fancams that fans attended the live performance recorded and group 1 overall sounded much more clearer and louder than they did here or even during the live show.

Honestly Esther’s voice is not suited for this song. She has a specific voice type and lacks technique and delivery. The finals was not auto tuned and fully unedited so it revealed a lot. But practice makes better.

Iqiyi definitely ate her numbers before! She didn’t get many scenes in the show but her dance is always soooo good and she’s the sexiest in my opinion. Thank goodness her fans are super devoted!

A good chunk of her votes were erased . She actually never left top 9 during the whole show, based on the data in all platform. Good thing her fans are real stubborn and keep voting for her, so even with suppressed votes she still make it in.

@@jasonshan5123 you would have noticed towards the end of the show they literally didn't give her much screen time at all. There was one episode regarding the celebration before the third ranking results and all her performances were unaired and placed under VIP version instead. So ya.

Personally I dont think Esther is ready for debut. The audio is messed up for all the members but you can still hear her struggling the most. I wish she had a little more time training before coming to the show. There are many other members who have been training longer than her who did much better in these performances and didn't make it... :( But its ok shes a kind beautiful girl with an amazing personality and I'm sure she will gain experience during the debut... Plz dont hate me....

i agree. shes weak in terms of vocals and her voice doesnt really suit fierce/badass concepts. i think her voice might be better for cute ones. and true about her fanbase lol. sure shes improving but not enough to debut.. theres so many trainees that couldve been top9 who had years of training yet they got eliminated.

Am not good at music, but this one the audio is full of messed up🤦♀️ All the background, the bass, the rhythm all messed up.. So noisy, and the lyrics are all mess up.. luckily their performance are awesome and powerful enough to cover all the messy music

One thing for sure. In first elem an qi, get high rank. But when the rules of voting been change, she suddenly drop. The thing is, many people voted you but you are not their first choice(except for those loyal fans of yours). Everyone knows that Ester has a huge fanbase that loyal to her, since the first elem. No doubt why she got a high rank than the trainees who obviously better than her.

Don’t mind me. I watched the live stream of this and also heard the live audio from fancams, there is a difference. They don’t sound that bad live, not sure what’s wrong with the audio recording during their song🤔 Extra points are given for singing live as well, plus the dance was really good. Try not to hate on them and show the girls more love❤️

i personally don’t think Esther Yu or Xiontang are at such a high level to be the top nine, especially compared to the other trainers. Don’t get me wrong they’re both talented and beautiful but not at such a high level.

honestly xiaotang is good in dancing no ? u can look at her first stage and all of those , she didnt make a single mistake lol she lack in vocal yes thats why she chose rap instead and her rap was good no ? she definitely deserved as top9 as the fact that she was accepted into beiwu at the age of 16 . if you think about it , ( example ) yuyan is good in vocals , but she is not as good at dance , and she never showed her rap too so just accept the fact that xiaotang actually deserves the top9
