I seen the Ratcliffe interview after the London Marathon and it was a dig at us. They quite simply need to give us compensation for touting Ashworth through their media darlings and they get their man.

Remember when we were desperately trying to secure a loan deal for Lingard with Lingard wanting the move as well but Man Utd played hard ball by coming up with a loan fee that was completely ridiculous and impossible for us to do...So we're playing hardball with Man Utd over Ashworth and good on us, thats the way it should be

You're bang on Paul - he doesn't have a pot to p*ss in and is wanting everyone on the cheap. He's now desperate to sell players before buying others (we'll see how much he has if he has to pay off Ten Hag!). The loon who wants the Taxpayer to buy them a new stadium! I've never heard so much shite since Michael Knighton was playing keepie uppie on the pitch! Based on what I'm seeing now, they'll be strugging to keep in the top 6 / 8 next season (where they currently should be!) LOL!

Agreed, Paul Mitchell if we can get him would be my pick from his previous CV. Ashworth never impressed me although I am still not sure what was going on in the background. What does concern me more is that we still haven’t broken ground on a new training and academy facility, after all, we have a load of injuries, a dated although recently renovated training ground, but these two areas are needed to pull in youngsters and professionals who expect better. Look at Leicester’s setup. As I understand neither will negatively impact on FFP but both could bolster the coffers when the6 start to produce results.

These things take time. First they have to find a site. Then work out not only what we need but what we may need in ten years time. Then have plans drawn up to then get them passed. They have spent a considerable amount of cash on the present facilities to make them fit for purpose for a year or two.

@@johngreen8996 Unfortunately they haven’t got time, the clock is ticking. It’s a relatively easy win to find something such as a large farm within 30 minutes of St James Park, buy it up and develop something special with no near neighbours to pop in petty objections. By my estimations that gives you a fair old radius of rural land, ranging from Consett to Corbridge to Belsay to Morpeth. Beautiful areas, easy half hour drive to the stadium and some really nice houses. Look at the money merry go round that Chelsea, Man City etc have due to their youth development, sales and loan programmes. Money that gets pumped into the club whilst having little impact on FFP to develop. I am also worried about all of the Northumberland and Durham lads (and lasses) we are losing to clubs around the country.

Paul Mitchell for me is the best. Media reports before Xmas said Man U approached him while he was scouting as was their no 1 choice for D of F but told them to take a running jump to be polite with the sneaky way they did this. MU then went for Ashworth which speaks for itself for how high Mitchell is regarded. He has better connections given his time in Austria,Germany and France than Ashworth ever had and is an upgrade on Ashworth. Also being ex Man City problably does not have a high regard for MU. The fact he turned down a sneaky approach speaks to me the morals of the man and that of Ratcliffe. I agree with the fact Ratcliffe hasnt the money as he has borrowed to finance his take over against INEOS and the spare £200M is for ground improvements. The money hes put in has gone into the Glazers pocket and with their overloaded squad they will have to sell instead have to buy and who would want to buy any of their players who are overpaid and rated. I have heard of Dean Huijsen and we should look at him if we cannot get Inacio. We could get him or Inacio with Hartman (LB at Feynoord we have been linked to) and Tosin for £60-65M. We would then have back up to LH at LB upgrade to BDB and CB cover

Paul, like you I loved Paul Stewart when Alex did the show and again like you, he is still my choice. As for Arseful wanting £60m for Ramsdale just shows how deluded they are. Heard rumours from some of their fans that they expect Isak for £75m/£80m. They are getting as bad as Manure

Jim Ratcliffe is a massive tool, being a Scummy united fan he has the common traits of being arrogant and obnoxious. The only thing I know about Braz is that he got huge fees for Enzo and Darwin Nunez, but like you I think Mitchell has the best CV, it's just nice we can trust our club now it is properly run can make the right decision, whoever comes in will be the right fit for Newcastle. The only thing I want from our recruitment team is to bring players in that are going to play, not spend 29m, keep them on the bench and only play them when your down to the bare bones like they did with Hall. Ramsdale 60m PASS......don't waste your time, look elsewhere. At the end of the day he is Arsenal's plauer and they can ask whatever they want, if the shoe was on the other foot paul you would be saying the same thing.

Paul Mitchell the stand out and also he is available so not a notice period to be served. On Ashworth, Howe captured it when he said you need 4/5 years tenure to have a real impact. Love the fact we are not just caving into JR. . Big rebuild needed this summer we need two CB’s before we start.

Checked out heijusen he still is a year or so off. Watched him for Roma a bit he is little weak with one on ones from what I seen. But in comparison to Kelly and tosin he has more scope

Good fella to have around you - 'gan to the bookies', put the cones out and write the substitutions list down, but you wouldn't want him in the sticks would you? With all honesty, he'd struggle to better the performance of what Pedro had to do against West Ham! LOL! Aye, at £60M - we'll be looking for someone with a passport to come in goal. Ratcliffe appears to be a monstrous bellend. Cannot stand him already. He’s at the perfect club. I just remember all Man Utd fans praying he didn’t come in. They didn’t want him. Let’s hope they continue to be crap. As for Ramsdale - I don’t want him full stop. Had so many arguments in the past with gooners that Pope is better. And he clearly doesn’t like being second choice. I disagree with you on Ramsdale Paul, I think 60 is high, but not absolute insanity. I think the same goes for us and Isak, not saying you've said this but people have said he is worth 150M that is insanity to me. I think Isak would be 100-120M. Just my opinion

How did you come to the conclusion it is a lot for Ashworth? It is what his contract stipulated. Armadale is a second choice goalkeeper without a buyout clause in his contract unless I am mistaken, so two totally different situations.
