Hi from the UK. Really enjoyed the video. I purchased one of these knives when they first came on the market. Got one in green and it has always been a favourite blade of mine. Mora knives like the Victorinox brand offer high quality at a low price. If used and cared for correctly are remarkably durable.

I love my eldris I also have it in light blue with a belt loop. I use it for carving camping four wheeler riding, everything for a year haven’t skinned a deer with it yet but that’s why I bought it originally. I agree with your assessment of a small sturdy fixed blade, carrying traditional pocket knives for over 30 yrs I’ve never really needed more than a 2-3 inch blade. So why carry a huge belt knife that’s not suited to the job you need it for. I have skinned and gutted deer with a basic stockmen or trapper knife many times and found them much easier to control than a big sheath knife.

Your not missing out on the big game skinning I just did that and while it was an accomplished task it's was a of a pain whe it came to the inner parts like the straps and cutting esophagus

Awe for sure I like the 3 blade because you can do the legs with 1 blade the joints with one and the overall hide with the clip point

I like the blue color because it stands out in the woods. Orange can sometimes blend in with the leaves. That said, I have a blue one and my wife has orange. Great review.

Yeah especially up in the northern part of the country where the fall is colorful

I do not have the Eldris yet but I do have about 15 of various models of Mora's. Great blades for sure!! I would say the Classic #2 is probably my favorite followed by my 510, and yes I have the Garberg and Bushcraft Black, and both Companion models. One that I have which I rarely use is a Classic #1 I think, but it has a 4 inch blade and is laminated steel.

Interesting video and I hear good things about Mora (I dont own one)... but its a pretty bold statement to say that a knife (of any make) that falls just short of a 2 1/4 inch blade, will do 99% of what you need in the wilderness! The smart money is on carrying multiple knives... I Always carry at least 3. A machete, 8 inch outdoor utility style blade, and a 4 inch fillet blade. Ultimately use the right tool for job!

I usually carry many knives in the field as well. But the reality is that for most people, the more knife is going to do, everything they actually need and nothing that they don't.

@@offthecouch1999 I'm going to disagree with you on this one... You are assuming that everyone's needs are the same.... Other than a few basics, they are not! Additionally... a larger knife will Always do more for you than a small knife including the tasks that they may not necessarily need, but make the experience better!

I may add one to my gear since it's so light and small. I usually use my little Kamrat puukko for fine carving, but I may try one for awhile. If I like it, I'll gift my two nephews with one a piece.

I've always wanted to try one, but was hoping that Mora would make one in carbon steel instead of only stainless.

They do have carbon blades last I heard but I'm not sure what models they come on

@@offthecouch1999 Yeah, I use a Mora 510 and Classic 1 in carbon when carving sometimes. I've had those two knives for many, many years. I gave about $8 a piece for them it was so long ago....lol

It's not gonna snag on a branch and come out of the sheeth in my pocket . I also took some nasty falls on the at, and in both of those, the things I had around my neck damn near split my sternum because of how I fell on them

Yep, it is an excellent little knife and will do 99% of what you need. Noticed you using a hiking staff in the into, nice! Very versatile tool.

you think moras are nice jp martini Finland knifes are amazing to me the moras jp martini are my 2 favorite light duty knifes with my hatchet or machete i recommend the tramontina 12 inch verson with shock you how it works i love better then my rat 6 knife lol great video
