i believe the hand transfers nerve signals from the brain to move the hand, essentially a mechanical version of how a normal hand would work

The fingers are electronic and have little motors in them and some where in the rest of the prosthetic there are sensors that are able to detect the movement of muscles in the remaining part of the arm allowing the person to make the prosthetic move as they wish. (At least that’s how it is for a lot of them, though this could be a different scenario)
