"Finality" Trailer Explained - Aurelion Sol Backstory & Lore!

Aurelion Sol is getting a CGU in League. He also got a trailer, called "Finality," which presents a good opportunity to talk a bit about Aurelion Sol's lore and history! So we're gonna do that, with a dose of RAMPANT SPECULATION at the end!

People don't understand that the MMORPG is going to be amazing because of stuff like this. Imagine The escaltion Expensions would be able to take - The Ixthal Uprising - Story line about Qiyana Getting her Crown and Trying to conquer Everything - The Return of Azir - Darkin Second War - Darkin First War - Rune Wars - The Tidecaller (Fizz , Nami , Diana based Expension) - Mount Targon (Diana , Zoe , Leo ) - The ORder of the black Rose - The War for Hextech (Demica , Piltover , Noxus) - Zaun Uprising - The Order of the Black Rose -Void Invasion - The Release of Asol and the War Vs The Void - The Revenge of Asol Each on of these things can be massive expension providing YEARS of content. This is going to be an amazing MMORPG

I think Bel'Veth power has to grow exponentially the more she consumes the more she can consumes. I think at some point they will have to use last resort to save reality. If the universe is about to be consumed by the void they might aswell unleash Aurelion and either it ends in complete destruction or he realizes he should try and fight the void to keep his universe bright because he may not be able to forge it anew against the power of the void

EXACTLY!!! I think this is such a viable plotline for how Aurelion Sol will ultimately be freed!

There are so many threats in runeterra and one of them is fiddlesticks curious to see if which one is the greater threat either it is the void or fiddlesticks

I'm sure this has been mentioned already but I don't think his line "every crack brings a galaxy of strength" was a metaphor, I think it's literal. When in the last line he says "what's the matter Targon, loosing your grip" you can see his crown has a very large crack down the center

Totally! I actually meant the "GALAXY of strength" part being a metaphor - I apologize that wasn't clear!

Would Asol even do something as to lower himself to the level of trying to trick or convince someone to free him? Might be too close to begging for his taste.

Not a bad point, and a good thought! I guess it depends how badly he wants to be free. It's sort of like a battle of two sides of his ego, I guess: is the potential ego hit of the "trick" worth exacting vengeance for the damage done to his ego by GETTING tricked in the first place?

I like to think that A.Sol's old and new kit reflects the current state of Targons hold on him. In his old kit he's pretty much restrained and you need to think creatively on how catch the other team off guard with your limited range (kinda like how he "accidentally" killed the previous Pantheon using the 3 stars to seal the void rift) Meanwhile his new kit pretty much show us what happens when his restrains are loosed or removed. Every time he gains stardust stacks his abilities gets stronger and the longer the game drags on he can get out of control (kind of like right now, A.Sol is pretty much just playing the waiting game by the looks of it). And I can tell you the number of close games I played with or against an A.Sol that we won/lost just because he was able to accumulate enough stacks to turns things around.

Imma be real, while yes you should never enslave someone and enslaving him was a HELLA BAD IDEA, A Sol should definitely be doing something about the void rifts. If you think about it he's kinda the reason the watchers woke up. They were annoyed by how bright reality is

It’s true! She kind of thinks of him as a pet! Not dissimilar to the way the Aspects all think of him, but “pet” is certainly less hostile than “tool” 😂

Does he have any kind of grip/control over the void‘dimension‘? It kinda is happening in this universe but at the same time it is it’s own plane of existence. Would be interesting

Not control, no - as a force of creation he’s pretty much directly at odds with the Void (he’s part of what would have annoyed the Watchers so much - creating and existence itself). He even seems to sense a void presence mocking him from beyond the rift in the Twin Dawns story! You’re right in the sense that it sort of exists in parallel state to the world itself, in some respects. It definitely IS interesting, I 100% agree! His conflict and almost “rivalry” with the void gives him a real “enemy of my enemy” feeling - he’s mad and wants to make Runeterra and the aspects pay, but he also wouldn’t want the void to win!

As far as I know, there's no word on when the A.Sol rework will hit Wild Rift! Safe to assume PC only for now (unless someone corrects me!)

Idont understand What Aurelion sol Did to be trapped, by targon/ pantheon or Zoe or Whatever

Nothing, targon were greedy and they feared asols power, they wanted to use his powers. Tou asol couldn’t care less about what these spiritual god do, he himself considers himself to be above them while fully knowing he is not a „god“ himself, basically he thinks he’s better than the gods. If I remember correctly, zoe currently has the reigns over asol, she’s also the one protecting asol from targon and co. I’m assuming it’s wrath and deceitful orders or something, she proclaimed asol as her pet and makes sure targon and co don’t overstep their boundaries and hurt him, cause asols her space doggo even tough he doesn’t like, but Zoe doesn’t care lol. So Asol doesn’t hate Zoe and it’s more like a hate love relationship cause Zoe loves to bother and troll asol lol. The other gods tolerate that protective and chaotic behavior of hers (overall and to asol) because she’s the one being able to control/converse with asol and her being very useful. So useful that the gods can only frown on her chaos and her wildness lol. Tough she doesn’t have authority to let him free herself.
