I went new to me truck shopping with my brother (aka my mechanic) a couple weeks ago. I looked at a truck with no power windows. I was like nahhhhh. He lit up like a Christmas tree. “It’s one less thing to fix” he says. I burst out laughing… after staring at him for a few seconds. I ended up falling in love with another truck… with power windows.

We have a 53 x102 Barrett tandem axle pot. I use to haul hogs with it behind a 9400 IH with a lift axle. We put a 1/2 deck in the front of the belly and it has 3/4 dog house. We just haul our own cows now. We put 4 backup lights one on each side going down for making turns and 2 going back to see backing into chutes. And we have lights on both sides on the inside. Most of our loads was at night. We always run Virgin tires on truck and trailer. We never got over 5 miles per gallon but the truck would run most of the time as it was either hot or cold out and we would have the AC or the heat on while sleeping. We had a N14 Cummins 9 speed with 373 rear’s . Most of the time the DOT and cop’s would not bother you much have had them Flash the red lights to tell you to slow down.

You remind me of how I grew up. Lived on a farm for about 12 years. Loved it but then we sold everything and moved to a city of six thousand people. I hate the city. Would rather be out in the country. I had to have a 6 th back surgery October 21 then got home from the hospital in Omaha on October 23 then I turned 49 on October 24. I will be home recouping until I see the doctor for the last post op appointment on January 19 then hopefully can go back to work. I need to find a single farmer with cattle and so on to go back to my old ways if you know what I mean. That would have been fun to watch you guys take apart and put back together the engine on you red truck. I grew up helping my dad with big equipment. I like stuff like that. I enjoy your videos. Trying to catch up on them. Take care and have a safe trip to haul cattle in Kansas.

@@awesomecreationschannel actually and Surprisingly, you don’t want them full of water when you haul. If they are full of water and feed in their bellies, they end up getting each other really wet, dirty, and sloppy. I prefer to have them dry lotted for about 6-8 hours before they are loaded. Over the years I’ve noticed they handle the trip better and come off the truck in much better shape.

I originally clicked on this video because of the thumbnail. I said to myself this dudes beard is awesome , that must be what my oldest son is going for, (he's trying to grow his beard out). That kid hasn't ever liked hair cuts either. Did you just let it grow or have you tried to help it grow? Hope you don't mind me asking, my son thinks it so cool and if you have any tips could you send them my way? I didn't realize what you bull haulers had to go through, and the cost of that darn trailer. You can't be hauling bulls or other live stock every day, so it must be difficult to keep up. That not a job for the average guy either. I watched a guy load a trailer once when a Texas farm was sending their cattle in truck after truck loaded for days from that ranch! Not sure where they took all that beef but it had to be all over because nobody has a freezer that big. Thanks for the video, be safe, keep the shinny side up!

The work would hold up but you would need to put some switches to release air off some of the axles to lift them and take stress off the frame and make it easier to get into somt tighter areas as well. That is what I did on my spread axle, both the front would life and the rear depending on what the conditions were as to how I managed the air to the spread axles. Oh, and by the way I know you take your Christianity kind of serious, but here is food for thought. read Jn.15:20 and 1 Cor.11:1-16 & Dan.12:2 to see how the Lord looks upon a shame. Has something to do with contempt for those who do not keep His words to us or those of His Apostles: That we are supposed to live by in our own daily lives. Food for thought. My wife got real tired of me saying it takes money to make money to stay in business.

Congratulations on the new to you trailer, love the chicken lights but the down side if you add extra lights and they are inoperable. DOT will nail you for inoperable equipment. Question with the single vs a dual does it take away from axle capacity weight? Sorry I’m a old trucker who has always hauled standard dry and refer, I’ve never even hauled a spread axle down side of always been a company driver and never owner operator

www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-III/subchapter-B/part-393/subpart-B I don’t know if you can follow that link, but it is the chapter and verse that specifically says the DOT cannot ticket you for in operable extra lights. I have always kept it handy just in case they try to harass me for it 👍🏼 The single axles are good for 13,000 pounds each and the center axle is good for 20,000. So as a whole they don’t affect the capacity. Great questions .

Yeah. Quit using it a long time ago due to unfriendly business practices and outrageous prices. :(

I ordered a " screamin meanie " for my son who is about the same age as yours but he has trouble waking up for school and I leave way earlier for work . He is around the same age as your boy mind you he has no problem waking up for hunting, motocross, atv rides or playing horseshoes idk 😐🤔🤷

Dang grandpa we’re you getting passed by other semis when you were rolling without a trailer? I guess with the price of diesel keeping your foot off the ole coal shoveler is the only way to roll. I remember making 20 bucks a Bull wagon for SbarS trucking to clean one out. We got done pretty quick if they were fresh. Maybe show a video of the joy of cleaning one out. If my kids ever ask what the worst job I ever had I tell them I had a shitty job once but we made it fun.

Was wondering the same thing. That overhaul Detroit Diesel sounded like a top 🤩 when Jax was showing the trailer lights at night.

Please film the loading! /delivery... Probably wont fit youtube guidelines but show what you can. Most people never saw a prodder. Show them how hard driving a bull truck really is.

Is it possible to find a couple of axles at a salvage yard with duals and air ride to replace the 2 singles on your trailer?
