Hey guys its great to see a BRP machine enter the fold of the SXSBLOG!! I'm a yamaha fan with an R1 and FZ1 bikes in the stable, along with a CAN AM XMR ATV. I just added a RZR 1000 as well. If the $ was there the RZR would have been an X3. Those machines are absolute beasts!!!!!!

Hey I just got an X3 xrs Triple black, I know how much fun it can be. I would say Nick gets the X3, he seems to like it the most. (Doug? Rick?) I love your Vids, keep up the good work. You guys should come to Canada BC and see what a real trail looks like, in the Rocky Mountains, lol. Take Care!

That X3 is intense for sure. When we ride w buddies having the meanest dog in the yard feels great. What seems to happen a lot of places like on the RZR forum is unless you have a turbo with 20k in mods no body's interested. I like that you guys have sxs's that anybody might have. you're not afraid to beat on them and use some elbow grease to fix them. It would be an awesome build for Doug to throw a turbo on that yxz. Anybody can buy something set up. Nick I'd wait to see what Arctic Cat actually releases. You look natural in one of those

Well it may jump amazing but look at those shocks plus it has like 6 more inches of travel in front and 7 more in the rear than what the yxz has. For that price tag I mean you should be getting something lol. They are amazing but when you get that big it's more like your driving a buggy than a side by side. Side note congrats dougs brother it's flipping cool.

Okay before I even go further than 1:00 let me get at Doug real quick; packard supercharge yours! Still come in way below what you're brother paid! Haha
@spencurai7 жыл бұрын
For how much Doug paid for the YXZ though...I don't even want to know the price tag for that X3 out the door. Slap a turbo or supercharger on the YXZ and it'll do work and still have 2 years of gas money for the machine and the tow rig left over.
@SXSBlog7 жыл бұрын
For me at least nothing compares to it suspension wise and that's what I'm all about. Thats why I got into the Wildcat in the first place.
@dougbutterfield55057 жыл бұрын
Considering the YXZ is paid off that X3 price tag doesn't look all that bad...lol. Add $5k worth of turbo parts to the YXZ and it's even less crazy. Wish I could have the shifting and the X3 suspension in one package...
@spencurai7 жыл бұрын
I would love to see you guys throw mods at the YXZ....maybe because I bought one two weeks ago lol. "Make-the-YXZ-at-least-as-good-as-the-X3-for-less-money" campaign lol. Long travel kit, turbo, paint it Iron-Man colors lol I'm serious! Confuse the hell out of everyone at the dunes! Maybe do that to the Textron too!!
@realestateoscar77247 жыл бұрын

Doug Butterfield do you really think it's that much better? I followed a tune from a forum and my yxz rides impressively well at Moses lake Washington. I'm as rough as I can be as well. jumps whoops whatever..
@dannywilliams29897 жыл бұрын
Which tune? and are you still stock shocks, or got springs?
@arthurmaciulis10487 жыл бұрын
I'm 100% broke and bone stock.
@arthurmaciulis10487 жыл бұрын
the tune is from a yxz forum called "the suspension guy". I was looking for a tune and went with his it soaks up almost everything but is really soft on hard pack roads. but whoops are 40 to 50 mph and I've jumped it easily as far and high as the X3 in this video and it is butter smooth.
@jeffbabineau82597 жыл бұрын
It's a shame you didn't have the X3 available to use on your Glamis trip. That thing would have been amazing in the dunes. With that much potential, I could see where an average driver might be way over his/her head pushing the limits of a X3.
@SXSBlog7 жыл бұрын
No kidding!

@surgedtwice7 жыл бұрын
ya it's a sick platform but it's still belt driven! Anything belt driven is not a "race" or "performance" vehicle period. Keep belts on the farm or trail.
@SXSBlog7 жыл бұрын
I don't totally agree or disagree. Certainly they're not the best solution but all the big desert racers still find success with belts.
@surgedtwice7 жыл бұрын
I understand your point. But I have 3 years of Co-driving experience in the UTV Pro Production class of Best In the Desert racing series. And let me tell you the top 5 teams and champions of the series go through belts, primary, and secondary clutches to the point of it being ridiculous. For example: in a 250 mile race Top teams will shred about 2-5 belts and completely replace the Primary and secondary clutch component in the pits after each belt blows. Soo every time a belt shreds they replace the primary and secondary clutch for reliability reasons. Not stock components either, STM clutches. I've personally blown/shredded 5 belts in one race! Imagine the price tag on doing that routine. That's why I 100% stick to my 1st comment. CVT transmission systems have no place in the racing world.
@shockinawesome95957 жыл бұрын
Eh for dunes the x3 might be better stock to stock but trails it would be a bitch and with some stage 5 Elka shocks the RZR might be smoother
@SXSBlog7 жыл бұрын
RZRs ride nice for sure but we're looking to go big and at the end of the day there is just no replacement for the all that X3 travel.

well really the look on Dougs face as he was driving kinda was a look of sxs brand change, 1000cc SUES isn't the fastest kid on the block anymore!
@OvenBak3d3607 жыл бұрын
Personally the amount you would lose on the Yamaha selling it and the more you would have to pay buying the x3 you would be better off paying a bit more and adding a turbo and upgraded shocks on the Yamaha and absolutely murdering the x3 in almost every way. Except whoops due to the x3 being longer even then a good set of after market shocks on the Yamaha might close that gap.
@dougbutterfield55057 жыл бұрын
The power capability with the YXZ is wild for sure, but no amount of bolt on parts or shock tuning is ever going to make it hang with the X3 in the suspension department. I'm not saying I'm bailing on the YXZ yet, but credit where credit is due. The X3 XRS is the baddest thing on the market.
@moto420television56 жыл бұрын
Apples to Oranges though, its unfair when its turbo against NO turbo... Wait til Yamaha does a factory turbo setup!
